If you’re trying to make this about race when Ga, Tn, NC, and SC have huge black population
both states are rural, sparsely populated and have the poorest public education in the country, compared to other southern states.
In my opinion LA is ahead of MS, but likely more corrupt.

Georgia and Louisiana have very similar demographics.

Yup. We have a lot of ground to make up.
I wish Landry would focus his efforts on that rather than the other legislative actions he’s spending time and energy on.

Louisiana is set up for failure. The only people who prosper long term are injury attorneys. They run the state.

I agree with this. Mississippi has taken great strides to improve their state over the last 20 years. They’re not nearly as arse backwards as Louisiana.
Hell, they figured out the sports gambling thing and legalized it like 2 years before Louisiana did because they could foresee all the tax revenues it would bring in.
I hate Louisiana. I really wish my family and friends didn’t live here, because that’s the only reason I’m still living here.

Communities are good at what’s important to them. And Louisiana is great at eating, drinking, hunting, and hanging out with maw-maw

For Louisiana, the issue is the 31%, plus how rural it is otherwise. Our collective IQ isn't that attractive.

Because Louisiana is the worst of all political worlds: fiscally liberal and socially conservative.
Yep.
But it gets even worse for being “fiscally liberal”, it has terrible public schools/education … and for being “socially conservative”, it has high crime rates.
It’s the worst of everything for college graduates and people with families

My granddaughter flew back to Louisiana after her summer visit and lasted a week. She' came back almost immediately and plans to finish school here.
She just couldnt do La anymore.

The Huntsville tech and Airbus and Austal in Mobile is a large part of what is keeping Alabama from being in the same group as MS and LA.

I hate to be rude, but people in this state are stupid. Not “can’t teach common sense” stupid. Just lower IQs across the board. That matters.
If you want Louisiana to be prosperous you need to bring in smarter residents to raise the temperature a bit. That’s basically it.
Stupid people elect stupid people. People with lower IQs are more likely to have low credit scores, make bad decisions, can’t self reflect, and have poor impulse control.
And this is maybe the statement that will anger people the most, those great people of the state are the ones holding the state back economically. Most people who are a good time, partying, living in the moment are also, generally, fricking dumb.

Corrupt politics, uninteresting landscape, shitty weather, natural disaster prone, dangerous larger cities with mostly meh suburbs.
Outside of O&G/plant jobs and good food LA doesn't offer a lot that you can't find elsewhere with fewer negatives.

If the USA were to collapse, Louisiana would never survive on its own as an independent nation.
The (newly formed) Republic of Texas would annex it in a heartbeat (for the oil and Mississippi River access).
Mississippi might survive. If not, Alabama grabs it (for the shipyards and, again, for the Mississippi River access).

The Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of Mississippi State Government generally work in concert with each other.
If the five or ten powers-that-be want something there to happen, it happens and without endless horse trading and extortion.
Contrast this with Louisiana’s snake ball of politics where everyone and everything has to have some strings attached to it. The only consensus is “what’s in it for me?”.
