Couldn’t agree more. Frankfurt airport is similar. Most of the flights you deboard or board on the tarmac and have to take a bus to and from the terminal. Not to mention landing at Frankfurt from Houston and having to walk 30 minutes just to get to the next terminal.
All that said, Lufthansa is top notch for international flights. United and the remaining U.S. carriers as well as British Airways are terrible.

Believe it or not...Detroit Metro’s is one of best in nation. McNamarra terminal is incredible

I fly through AMS 4 or 5 times a year for work and was my connecting airport to IAD yesterday. Its a very well operated airport and with Central Station in the lower level it makes it super easy to get to the actual city.

I disagree with this. Most euro airports are a cluster. I fly out of DFW and Love and have always sailed through. I have stood in lines at euro airports for a couple of hours on most flights over there. We always plan of getting to euro airports at least 3 hours ahead of time for flights inside the EU and 4 hours for flights back home. Took us 3.5 hours to get through the Amsterdam Airport to fly home this summer.

Most of these countries only have a handful of airports. Imagine if we put all of our resources into only half a dozen airports. I am sure they would be nicer.

Lisbon airport was a pain in the arse to fly out coming back to the states.

Atlanta is the easiest large airport in the world to get around in. Their security checks are terrible but not as bad as a lot of places.
Want to see the worst airport in the world go to Rio. The place is a dump!

Heathrow is the worst they change you gate 20 mins before your flight and you have to run through the terminal. De Gaulle is Meh, the international terminal is nice ,but go through for a short distance flight and it kinda sucks. Schiphol I swear I get molested by security every time I pass through. Munich is probably the nicest I have been though ,but as a whole Europe is not as great as you say it is.

Looking at the Vienna airport map, it looks like the size of a regional airport which here in the US you can make similar time. Austin gets similarly fast times. When you get to the huge airports are when things fall apart.

CDG sucks. far worse than any US airport I've been in. Even LAX and I hate that place...

Tokyo Narita is not too nice of a airport.
