frick outta here
And Heathrow has 77 million annual and is still light-years ahead in terms of getting to the gate.

Sounds like you are comparing the major European internation hubs to the smaller international or regional hubs in the US.
This. Not a fair comparison

Anytime you are stuck in ATL airport for a long time, just hang out in the international terminal. It’s like a different airport.

No I'm comparing airports like Washington Dulles, Chicago O'hare, JFK, Logan, etc.

You can not lump all American airports together. Name the specifics. I can arrive at ATL a half an hour before boarding and still have time to go to the bathroom, grab some snacks and get to my gate before pre-boarding.
There are shitty airports all over this globe. If all you are looking for is how fast you can get to your gate, then thats one thing. I sure as hell would rather have a long layover in ATL over a place like Kansas City. KC is my most hated airport even though the gates are steps away from security.

I have no issues with DFW, ATL, IAH
But...
EWR, LGA, ORD need to burn down.

I haven't flown through Atl in the last 10 years so I can't comment on it specifically.

That is actually impressive.

I'd rather drive to western Europe so I can have my own car

The US has 50x+ more airports than most european countries. SO theres that

n my experience the only poorly operated/designed airport in Europe is the Berlin Airport.
do you even Charles De Gaulle mfer

London, Paris, Amsterdam, etc. all light years ahead.
Charles De Gaulle? Are fricking high? I think only LAX would be rated a worse airport than that.

LAX is a much better airport than CDG. A part of a terminal collapsed and killed people at CDG not that long ago - and last time I was there part of the security line snaked outside in the middle of the fricking summer....

Hey, within a couple of years, MSY is going to have a brand new terminal! Of course, MSY is only about the 38th busiest airport in the U.S.

Go back to Vienna, Falco.
Nobody wants you here.

Delta's JFK is great. DCA is fine. MSY is super easy to navigate. There are some dumps out there for sure... PHL being one of them.

I went from my car to the gate at MSY in a 10 minutes on Sunday
ETA: did not have priority access and concourse B.

Lots of minimally travelled people on here roasting the OP, but he is right.
I've been to 50-something countries and lived overseas for a while. I've seen most of the notable airports in the world, and I find them to be reasonably reflective of the cities they serve in development, mindset, etc.
It boggles my mind how so many peoples' first impression of the US is to fly into JFK, LAX, ORD, or MIA. These are dumps by any objective measure, and they do not give a good first impression.

International terminals are always nicer dude. Go through a domestic terminal in Europe and it’s the same shite.
