LMAO Exactly ?? not funny but yeah ya rite! I lived 2 canals over or 1 canal, and 1 bayou over...London Ave. canal. Saw the water overlapping the levee during the eye of Betsy! Krazy times and then came Katrina ????????

A second to Lake Vista. Quiet, safe, very aggressive and responsive Levee Bd police force. Unique layout with house fronting on parks and lanes. Most people in New Orleans barely know of it.

Depends on the type of person you are. Each neighborhood has a vibe.
I find Uptown (outside of a few real high end areas) a little congested and the houses are on top of each other and having to deal with on street parking. Would be totally fine as a single guy but not ideal with kids.

In the city, lakeview or uptown seems to be the move.
Metro area depending on the work situation I’d do Mandeville in a heartbeat. Especially if my work was only on site in the city a few days a week then remote the other days.

I lived in New Orleans for 4+ years and I never once drove out to Metairie for shopping.
To the OPs question, basically between St Charles and Magazine St, west of Napoleon (personally I would stretch it out to Louisiana Ave.) There are other areas adjacent to that as well, but those are “easy” boundaries.
