Where is the ideal spot to live in New Orleans?

Lakeview. Centrally located to downtown and veterans.
Uptown: too far from veterans
Old Metairie: overpriced and backs up to the hood
New Metairie: too far from downtown
West Bank: run down and too far from everything
Northshore: lol. Lmao even. Who wants to commute over an hour each way at $6 a pop for causeway?
Chalmette: no. Flood prone and severely declined since katrina

Lived in Lakeshore from 2022-2024.
Really enjoyed it. Felt safe with a young family.
We would've considered moving to Old Metairie eventually if we would've stayed.

When I was in my 30s uptown near Audubon was great for all of the nighttime action and restaurants.
When I was in my 40s Lakeview was a better fit. A little quieter.
The area of mid city close to Esplanade and City Park seems like it would be fun for any age
