So is mine....

The one I have is in mint condition, lamp still works, considering my grandmother took care of everything like it was the last thing she owned...

Key lime pie from my grandmother in S. Florida and the sound of the wind rustling through the coconut palms. Fried squirrel, gravy, and biscuits from my grandmother in N. Alabama. Staying up late and watching old Bob Hope movies with my grandaddy.

My grandfather was in the Confederate army and died in 1929. So I’m guessing my love of shooting.

I always said if I hit the Powerball, I'll have a pair of new socks every day. Sports cars are cool, awesome vacations etc. But eventually you can't drink, frick, or run like you used to. But those fresh socks are something.

All four of my grandparents were born in the 1890s.

Made biscuits this morning and my son and I both put some sour cream on them. Grandpa used to do it every, single, time. Made me smile thinking about it.
My grandma had a nude statue in her house. As a child I would always turn it so the arse was facing the room. I have it in my living room now with the arse facing the room lol.

Hot breakfast every morning no matter what and a coffee pot with coffee in it on the stove 24/7.

My grandpa was a former smoker. Smoked like a train until one of his 6 daughters got diagnosed with asthma. Put them down right then and chewed juicy fruit or peppermints until he died years later. The man never went without wrigleys. Either spearmint, juicy fruit, or wintergreen(I think was the 3rd one).

I have one of my grandma’s handkerchiefs in my purse - it’s usually at the bottom, but when I dig through for something and find it - I think of her

I use my Grandmother's bread knife, it's hand made, with a saw edge pattern I haven't seen elsewhere. I have the chalk portrait of my Grandfather that was made on his visit to Paris in the previous teens.
Big things like furniture, dishes, silverware and some of the art work they brought home from Canada, but those are big. The bread knife is the most tactile and remembered. (as well as her recipe for corn meal pancakes.)

My grandmother was the same way. Hot breakfast every morning. I lived with her for extended periods a couple of times for various reasons. She’d always ask me the night before what I wanted for breakfast the following day. Usually fried eggs and biscuits, or blueberry muffins with extra, fresh blueberries, or pancakes and breakfast sausage. She was a saint. She passed away a little over a year ago. I’d give my left arm to sit at the table and eat some fried eggs, homemade biscuits, and coffee, and make small talk with her while she ate her oatmeal and drank milk one more time.

T-Cakes that she kept in a large metal tin.
MawMaw used a tray toaster that only cooked the breat on one side. Then she would hit six spots on the toast with butter.
Alway had new jars of Bama Jelly ready for the visit. Grape Strawberry Apple.
