Hummingbirds

Grandparents had feeders outside their sitting room window for as long as I can remember. Every time I see a picture or one of the small birds I think of them!

3 things remind me of my grandmother.

1. Chanel No 5
2. Vodka
3. Wrigley's Spearmint Gum

Grammy smelled like Chanel No 5, there was usually vodka on her breath, and her car smelled like Wrigley's Spearmint Gum. Every once in a while you'd get a whiff of all 3 combined. I still have an old jewelry box of hers that smells like Chanel No 5. She did in 1986.

does that get your panties all wet Martina?

I’m guessing your grandfathers hands were a pair of black prison hands. The crackhead doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Cases and cases of Budweiser. My great uncle worked at the distributor and would bring extra cases over to grandpa’s. Used to love sneaking a few out.

This may as well have been straight fire. Secondly, this is the greatest thread ever. I just want to go to Bunkie right now even though my grandparents have been gone since the mid 90s.

All the way from the Orleans Parish Prison, to the Silicon Valley. What a fairy tale story
