These two are knockouts compared to the others on the list:

You said the 1983 Cutlass Supreme was one of the knockouts. That was my first brand new car I ever bought. It was gorgeous and very comfortable. It felt so fancy and my payment was $283 for 4 years. Alas, it was a lemon and had so many things go wrong with it. We only kept it 3 years. It was the last year for the Oldsmobile. The fact that mine was a lemon might tell you why.

I graduated from HS in 1979. The Cutlass was also the best selling car that year.

I looked and couldn't find "Best Selling" but I did find "Most Popular as follows:

The 70 Dodge Challenger.

On a side note, when I was born it was the 52 Buick Roadmaster.

That was not the last year for Oldsmobile by a long shot. Oldsmobile wasn't discontinued as a brand until 2004.

We had the 2005 Camry, wish we still did. So does my 23 y/o son. Rest in Power Camry we got rid of too soon.

Ford Escort, in the second year of its existence after replacing the Pinto.

Good lord that thing is ugly and cheap-looking...
