Tantal, I am so sorry to learn this. Be assured of prayers.

We have had the same brain for a long time. We have cave drawings of the stars dating back 30k years ago. This isn't surprising.

re: What’s the coolest thing you’ve found?

I am a librarian by profession, and the collection I maintain is filled with older works, a fair percentage from the 19th century and early 20th century. Back in late October I was shelving and I always look into the older books to see who may have owned them previous to us.
Found one, it was a 1946 edition of The Autobiography of Benvenuto Cellini who was a contemporary of Michelangelo. Anyway I open it, the book was numbered 60 of 1000 and signed by the illustrator in 1945, one Salvador Dali. It's living in my office.

Enough people out in the world, and certainly enough people in pervasive media sport the look, so impressionable young, and stupid old people believe that it IS.

re: What are you giving up for Lent?

the only required days for fasting and abstinence are Ash Wednesday and Good Friday - and you only have to abstain from meat on Fridays in lent
PreVatican 2 - all of lent and every Friday you had to abstain from meat. Catholics are actually supposed to still make a little sacrifice on every Friday but most have not been taught that
The abstinence on Fridays was never abrogated, only deemphasised; but quietly not discussed you are correct.

I made a tactical decision to leave after Chaos. Glad I did. The Muses pretentiousness on social media is off-the-charts.

re: Basic black suit in Nola - men’s warehouse or somewhere else?
Posted by RedPop4 on 2/25/25 at 9:06 am
Tuxedos to Geaux has a limited suit selection, but they are reasonable and offer lifetime alterations.
If you have time, order online from Hardwick I have a black blazer and a navy blue suit from them. Ordered online and the fit is spot on. I THINK Rubenstein Brothers on Canal Street carries their suits as well. Get on their e-mail list as they will have absolutely killer e-mail deals about twice a year.
