Yes, I put others first before myself as Paul says in Philippians 2: 3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. 4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. I struggle with verse 4 a lot of the time but, I’ve made it a point to be better about it.

My Dad was mine. I pray that I’ve turned out to be half the man he was. We lost him in 1995 and I miss him so much even 31 years later.

Yes, I agree it was in jest. When I think of elite basketball coaches, ones like Dean Smith, Coach K, John Wooden, Bill Self, Bob Knight, Roy Williams, etc. who have won multiple NCAAT championships.
