Mine was the bathtub shaped Camry (probably the worst generation ever). Reminds me of how boring and uncontroversial life was back then.

In 2001 it was the Honda Accord, but in 2002 I felt like it was the Hummer with how many I saw clogging parking spots at LSU

1956 Ford. Would you believe everyone'z favorite colors for everything (cars, clothes, etc.) was pink and charcoal?

All l could do about either vehicles or clothes was drool, while wearing jeans and driving a pre-WWII 1939 Dodge pickup.

For a 1980s car they weren't THAT bad. Ford's styling tends at the time weren't great. They did well with the Taurus, but that aero look didn't translate well to other models IMO.

These two are knockouts compared to the others on the list:

I really like Honda's styling in the early 1990s Accords. They looked contemporary and understated....but not cheap like other mainstream cars at the time.

I don't like the curvy, bulge look of the early 2000's cars. They all got taller and curvier to try to compete with SUV's for interior space.

I like the simple, no-nonsense styling of that generation Camry. Much better than the awkward, curvy look of the generation immediately before it.

People were more friendly back then and cars didn't look so angry. Today everything looks like a pissed off toaster...and that clearly tests well in the auto industry's focus groups because everyone is pissed off at each other.

Chevrolet Cavalier – 383,752 units sold

The recently released Chevrolet Cavalier was introduced in 1981 and replaced the aging Monza. The Cavalier is Chevrolet’s response to smaller import cars like the then all-new Toyota Camry. The first-generation Cavaliers had small efficient 2.0L I4 and offered manual and automatic transmissions.

But what really made the Cavalier the most sold car in the US was the fact that they released a more powerful V6 version and recently implemented throttle body fuel injection, a huge performance boost over carbureted competitors. Even the non-V6 engine models felt nimbler due to its smaller frame and significant weight savings. Body styles like hatchbacks and wagons still made the Cavalier practical enough as a family car too.

I still can't believe they went from the first generation revolutionary Taurus design to this:

What were they thinking? They gave up the sales lead to the Japanese for that and never regained it.

The first car purchase I made as an adult was a 1992 Honda Accord. I loved that car. Got it to 287,000 miles before getting rid of it.
