I still have to write a check occasionally but haven’t “balanced” my bank statement in probably 15 years

I have a young kid in school and it’s all digital. So no, that’s not correct.

I was born in 1987, I have never balanced a check book.

I used to write checks for rent and then my mortgage in the 2010’s.

We probably have to write a check a couple times a year now, but it’s definitely not a regular occurrence.

Jerry Seinfeld had an opening bit about checks for one of his show openings.

My favorite line is, “I don’t have any money, but if you contact these people…”

Still do both.

Don't write as many checks (most payments are automatic).

Balance my checkbook each month.

The only check I write is for trash service and I pay about a year in advance. I need to get that on auto draft but I have to call so I just never do.

I have never balanced a checkbook. I have had a checking account for nearly 49 years. It’s an art not a science for me.

This, the OP must not have kids in school.

For many things the school does not take cards, and I’m not sending large amounts of cash to school.

I probably write 75 checks a year… probably 65 are to the school.

So because of a personal preference you are an adult?

I don't write checks often at all. A few months ago I had to write one and had to stop a second and think about it.. Okay this is who I am writing it out to, but checks are not as secure as doing it electronically because there is a lot of information on your checks.

I wrote checks until about the same time, but was using Microsoft Money to balance the "checkbook" since the late 90s. I've written three checks in three years, all of them to the Department of State or similar.

Still routinely write 4 checks a month, with a few one-offs here and there.

Two kids in private school. Everything is paid through online portal / ParentSquare.

I did forget , I write one business check a year: to Schwab for my SEP IRA contribution. For some reason there’s not other option for that. It’s also the only time I ever go into a “bank.”

I guess my firm writes some checks but I don’t deal with any of that.

Remind me not to get in line behind you people at the grocery store.

I never balanced my checkbook when I wrote checks lol.

I think we wrote a check as recently as a year ago, maybe a little before that.

We were not planning on ordering more but some people we deal with don't do venmo or zelle and want payment when the job is done, so we just ordered more checks.
