Have you ever read Hogan’s Five Lessons? That helps me more than anything. I don’t practice at the range and only play from Feb-Sept. Sometimes I’ll hit plastic balls in the backyard before a round.
Hogan’s descriptions of the proper elbow position at address, and the pane of glass swing arc really help me. I refer to the book frequently when I start playing every year.
I usually shoot low-mid 80s by April and I had three rounds in the 70s this summer. If I hadn’t got the yips on 4-7 ft putts, I could have scored a lot better this year.
But that’s golf.
