1970 Chevelle Malibu 2-door sport coupe with a 350cid and 2-bbl Rochester Dual-jet carb. Bought new by my parents.

Lost my virginity in that car and still own it. The car, I mean, not my virginity.

Pretty sure it was my 1972 Plymouth Fury III in green:

I was 19 and a sophomore in college in 1983; I got it up to just over 100 briefly on LA 30 between LSU and Gonzales but got scared and went back down to 85 or so.

The one I really drove over 100 mph for a decent period was my 1992 Mazda MX-3 in white:

This I did back in 1996, in west Texas on US 385 between Big Bend National Park and Marathon. Drove it at 120 for about 4-5 minutes.

A 1999 Dodge caravan. I got it up to 113 mph. It had electronic hand controls an all so that was the only vehicle I had the option to drive, but the first time I was on open interstate with little to no traffic, I opened that bitch up..

Dad's 58 ford fairlane had a 390 high compression engine with 4 barrel carb and was built heavy . Made the run between Avondale and Boutte at 112 mph. There are these little bridges that held there elevation while the swamp sunk. Each one would launch the car off the road.

the car died the night my brother missed the curve at old 90 road in paradise and drove through the cemetery recking tombstones and car underbody

First was a 1994 Ford Explorer - my first car. That box on wheels would barely break 80 before it started fighting back, but overall was a great engine and very reliable car. Wish I still had it.

Highest I've hit is 164 in a 2015 Challenger R/T. The car handled it well on straight, flat tarmac but the amount of time and distance it took to slow back down to even 80mph was eye opening. Only did that once.

Also Toyota trucks are governed at 115, for those curious. Found that out too

1083 Chevy pickup. Straight 6, 3 on the tree and manual steering. Do not recommend. Fortunately the trooper only clocked me at 93. There was still a trip the the jail in Leesville, LA involved. Luckily Sheriff Howard gave me til close of business to come up with a lot of cash to make it go away. 400 1989 dollars at 18 years old was not easy.

My first car, which I bought at 15 with money I saved up delivering newspapers and working in a grocery store. I miss that car.
