I should clarify my statement. What I mean about a true pit bull is one from known fighting stock with high prey drive. Most people can’t even identify one.
I’ve had staffy’s for years. Two of them had zero prey drive and the one we have now has a little drive. We recognize this so when my grandkids come over he gets crated. He’s the sweetest dog ever but he’s still a dog. We know what he’s capable of and we won’t take a chance.
All of my dogs were bought from high end breeders that had a waiting lists. All from champion bloodlines. We buy show dogs and ruin them as pets.
I’d go ask the owners about the dog before I say my son can’t go over there. I’d also go see if they regularly crate the dog and know the responsibility of owning such a dog.
Most bully appearing dogs get grouped in with pit bulls but a true pit bull is not as common as people realize.
A true pit bull would worry me over an American Bully or Am Staff. A true pit bull could have come from fighting stock.

re: Rectec Flagship1100 or the Weber Searwood. Does anyone own one?

I have one. It does get to 700°. Get the grill plates too. Love mine. I use it a few times a week.

Been there many times. Willy T’s is cool if you want to jump in the water. The Indians is really great to snorkel around. The Baths…..take a noodle from the boat. The swim in from the mooring ball can be a challenge.

My son had the same grades coming out of HS and went to the USAF. As was mentioned earlier, make him hold out for the job he wants. Not the first job they offer.
It’ll pay off for him no matter what. My son landed the first plant job he applied for. Took me years to get on at a plant.

Everyone has different taste, but it’s usually regarded as the best in the area. Their fried seafood dishes are great. Hell, even their pizza is pretty good
As much as Parkway is flooded by tourists, it’s much better than R&O’s.

Dude!!!!!Are you a comuniss' or something? There's nothing there that sucks or comes close to it
Yeah I tried but there’s much better options.

you don’t “get” R&Os? What’s there to get? It’s good food in generous portions in a casual atmosphere for reasonable money LOL
Ate there twice and wasn’t impressed. RB poboy just isn’t that good. Had other stuff that wasn’t good enough to remember. Gave it a shot, not for me.

R&Os every time
Tried this place twice. I just don’t get it. Never going back.
re: Big Summer Family Trips - Where is Everyone Going?

Driving from Nola to Colorado late June. Staying near Breckenridge in an Airbnb cabin. Plan on spending a day in Denver, boating on the Dillon Reservoir, Rocky Mountain National Park, etc. Open to any suggestions as well.

Have you had any of Backyard’s whiskey? I didn’t know they had their own whiskey? Are they distilling over there? The 7 year double oak rye sounds interesting
Their Carrie’s Proof 107 wheater is as good as OWA. Search Whiskeyer on YouTube.
Go to Costco and get a bucket of chlorine tablets and be done with the salt. My generator failed earlier last year and that’s what I did. I put a tablet in one of the skimmers every couple of days during the colder months. In the summer I put two tablets in both skimmers and add CYA accordingly. Shock it after heavy use and heavy rains.
Salt bags are much heavier than a chlorine tablet. It’s much easier.

The Baths are swim in and swim out so be prepared but it's pretty easy
I strongly suggest asking the captain for a noodle. I’m a decent swimmer and thought nothing of jumping off the boat and swimming in. Didn’t quite go as planned. Had a dry bag that was making it harder to swim, started to panic and had to be helped in. It’s not a close swim. No chance I was attempting to swim back. Caught a taxi to the dock on the other side of the island to board the boat. If that didn’t happen I was fully prepared to live there.
Take the ferry from Red Hook to St. John. There’s a jeep rental place steps away from the Cruz Bay landing. L&L Jeep rentals.
Fortunately for us, my friend has two Jeeps at his house. We use them when we go.

For your first trip there I’d opt out on the BVI. As said, it’s expensive and worth chartering a boat. After doing it twice, we’re too spoiled to take the ferry to the BVI.
The USVI is a very unique destination and I believe just going to St Thomas would suffice for your first trip. I do suggest renting a jeep and taking the ferry to St John.
I have a very good friend that has a house on St John and we usually go every other year. Absolutely the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. There are ones far off the beaten path that when you get there there may be one person there.
I don’t know much about St Thomas, but St John is pretty much beach all day and dinner at night.
The roads on St John are very challenging as well. If you’ve ever rented a cabin in Gatlinburg it’s worse because you’re on the opposite side of the road and there’s blind curves on very narrow roads.
The food is great there, but the grocery stores are extremely expensive. There is a brewery on the island that brews decent beer.
A lot of areas are full of junk cars and trash. There’s goats and donkeys everywhere. Roosters constantly crowing. We just call it Island Life and we love it.

re: What’s some of your favorite budget/attainable bourbons under $65.00?
Posted by Bro Dad on 4/10/25 at 10:18 am to Bow dude72
Was recently in Hochatown Oklahoma and checked a local liquor store, there was a whole shelf of Weller SR. Liter bottles too. All at very close to MSRP.
I’d imagine they’ll be no chance of seeing BT bourbons since the flood.
Penelope Wheated. Fantastic for $33.
The big red ended up not being as nice as I hoped. I did pull the trigger on an ‘85 250sx, bought it from the original owner. Showroom condition.
This tells you everything thing you need to know. Taxpayers are being taken advantage of and it needs to stop.
How else does a person making $200k become a multimillionaire over and over?
Thank God for Trump and Elon.
