This guy, Scott Ford, a good friend of mine, Shot twice in Afghanistan- in the chest and triceps- they wanted to amputate his arm and he talked them out of it. He’s definitely a badass and a hero in my eyes.

My first car, which I bought at 15 with money I saved up delivering newspapers and working in a grocery store. I miss that car.

I've looked at a few properties in that price range with a house on it and the realtor tried to show me the house and I said that I didn't need to see the house because if I bought the property. the first thing I'd send over would be a bulldozer

My realtor suggested the same could possibly happen with whoever buys my house. A house three doors down sold two months ago and has been completely gutted with work crews there since it closed. A neighbor said the gal who bought it is in her 30's with and it will be her and her six kids!

A handful of posters, including the one replying right above my post- referenced the value of the home possibly determining whether to professionally stage or not. Don't be a pissy bitch.

Declutter and then keep only the furniture to a minimum - even if it means getting a couch or comfy chair or two into a storage unit. Less furniture means more open space for the viewer to encounter and thus a potential buyer is less likely to feel cramped or claustrophobic.

This is where I'm at currently. I've been here almost 21 yrs in 4,000 sq ft house and had accumulated a ton of stuff. Sold most of the house furniture, tools, a pool table and patio furniture at an estate sale in September and now left with the bare minimum and a few of the rooms are completely empty. The furniture I got rid of was dated as were most of the prints on the wall and decorative stuff. I now realize my house was over-decorated and over-furnished.

House to be listed at approx $1.6 million.
I should have clarified- my realtor was suggesting having a staging company coming in with furniture, lights, a fresh coat of paint, etc.- not me staging it myself. And based on what I have found researching on the internet those services are not cheap but reading some of the replies it's worth the expense. My home would fall in the "mid-luxury market" in Scottsdale and if it helps me get top dollar in a somewhat buyers' market it may be worth it.

Is staging a house worth it?

I'm preparing to put my home on the market and my realtor is suggesting having my home staged for the listing pics and showings. I have decluttered to the point where I have completely empty rooms and he suggests having most of the rooms staged will increase interest and curb appeal. Looking for feedback from anyone who has done it and was it worth it? Thanks in advance!

I was told by a friend who witnessed it that Craig Jackson, the CEO of Barrett-Jackson, was punched in the face by some guy in front of hundreds at the opening "gala" last Sunday night. I haven't heard the backstory but according to friends who have worked for him Jackson is a prick (and a notorious boozer). He does have an incredibly punchable face.

$20/mo. at EoS. Was previously paying $120/mo. at the Lifetime Fitness across the street, which is now almost $200/mo. for a single.

I said exactly that to a friend after the game last night.
Not the best video quality (filmed it with an iPhone) but here's video of my buddy flying his P-51D over Mesa, AZ. I filmed it back seat of a T-6 Texan.

Idk what it’s like now, but when I lived out there the stadium was in the middle of nowhere

The area has been incredibly developed the past few years with shopping, dining, hotels (massive hotel/waterpark opening soon) and entertainment options. The NFL mandated that they offer more lodging/dining options in order to get another Super Bowl and the amount of hotels that have been built is staggering but the stadium is still off the beaten path in Glendale.

Flagstaff is easily my favorite town in AZ.

My 2 biggest bucketlist retirement items are a Route 66 trip and a PCH trip

Doing both this summer in a 4-month RV trip. Starting in Kingman, AZ and taking Route 66 to Chicago then stops in WI, MI, the UP, MN, SD, MT, ID, WA and OR then coming back to AZ via the PCH then picking up Route 66 again near Santa Monica and taking it back to AZ. The plan is to drive the interstate as little as possible.

Wisconsin is a perennial decent but not great program. Oregon competes for titles.

Even as a huge Wisconsin fan I 100% agree with this
quote:

I’d go with two smaller ones and run them in parallel. Yes it will be a bigger pain to refuel etc but they will be easier to move around and you will also have one available if the other one craps the bed. As others have said non ethanol fuel if possible and run them dry if they will be stored for a while. They are pretty easy to work on so may not be a bad idea to take some sea foam and welding tip cleaners with you in case the carb gets gunked up.

Good info, two 2000 watt Predator generators are currently $500 ($100 off) at Harbor Freight and only 49 lbs. each. The 2500 watt Predator weighs 46 lbs. and is currently $630 but a friend says they discount it frequently as well. Definitely an appealing option as they will be easier to transport and move around as I will be moving around pretty frequently on the trip. Summer of 2027 is CN (Alberta, BC and the Yukon) and Alaska (primarily Denali & Katmai National Parks).

I'd do a Predator 3500. If you put soft starts on the AC's it should run both of them. Quiet and fuel efficient with a large enough tank to where you won't be filling it up constantly.

I have soft starts on both A/C's.

quote:

The 5000 would give some additional capacity but that's getting a little bit big to handle by yourself. If you have someone that can help you load it in and out of the truck or if you have a rack you can leave it on at the back of the RV, that would be a good option too.

I know the perception of Harbor Freight products are that they are low quality but the reviews here and online rate the Predator 3500 and 5000 are very highly. There is not a huge weight difference between the two (102 lbs. vs 110 lbs., both I can handle solo) and the 5000 will give me plenty of headroom for not a huge cost difference ($300). A buddy told me both go on sale frequently and since I won't need to pull the trigger for a couple months I can watch for discounts at Harbor Freight between now and then. Thanks to all for your suggestions!
This spring and summer I'm taking a five-month RV trip visiting national parks in CA, the PNW and into ID, MT, SD, MN, WI, the UP and MI and then back to AZ via the old Route 66 and I'm looking for recs on portable generators? I will be traveling in a 28' RV with two A/C's and will need to power those as well as interior/exterior lighting and other small electrical items on occasion when off the grid and not connected to shore power. The plan is to be running generator(s) and/or using solar and battery power 60-75% of the time and the rest moochdocking with friends or hooked up to shore power at a campground.

Looking at Honda (pricey, but good build quality and quiet), Generac, Champion and Predator (Harbor Freight). Reading that running two Honda's 2200u's in parallel (link below) should adequately suit my wattage needs. Any suggestions? All advice and feedback is greatly appreciated!

This spring and summer I'm taking a five-month RV trip visiting national parks in CA, the PNW and into ID, MT, SD, MN, WI, the UP and MI and then back to AZ via the old Route 66. Obviously one of the main criteria will be availability and looking at maps of clubs for both on my route and there is a smattering for both, obviously near the more populated cities along the route. Looking for a decently-equipped gym to train but also for some amenities like decent shower facilities and Wi-Fi. PF is cheaper ($25/mo. for membership allowing me to train at any facility vs $40/mo. at AF) and I haven't ruled out joining both. I haven't stepped foot in either facility and will before I join but wanted to get feedback from those who have. Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Low Beam, High Beam & reverse lights were a game changer on a Silverado.

I second Lasfit. I changed out the same lights listed above on my Silverado in addition to the lights illuminating the license plate just to be consistent. The reverse lights change was stark, those are ridiculously bright compared to the old ones.

You can mix with anything, but loses some of it efficacy when mixed with coffee. I just mix mine in an electrolyte like Gatorade Zero packets.

I also take a second serving after lifting and mix with water. Also, if you mix with grape juice or eat some grapes, a banana, etc then you can elevate your insulin levels and amplify your results.

Not for everyone but I find it easy to just take a tablespoon full of creatine and then quickly wash it down with a glass of water. Very quick and no mixing necessary.
