If this were to happen, I will predict that the new St. George Police Department will set records for amounts of tickets written in order to fill their coffers.

According to the plan floated by St. George people, there would be no St. George PD. The area would continue to be patrolled by the EBR Parish Sheriff, just like how Sorrento is incorporated, but uses Ascension Parish Sheriffs to patrol its area.

This is a joke right? The most expensive neighborhood in the "city" would fall in SG.

I don't have a problem with St. George incorporating but one thing I've figured out is that it's not really about schools.
They keep saying they were told to form a city if they want a school district but I question anyone that gets their legal advice from Sharon Broome or who ever they are quoting.
Getting the popular vote in EBR for a school district that matches the boundaries of SG will be very difficult to do.
I'm just not seeing a whole lot of good (or bad) that will come out if this. Taxes will go up a little and everything else will be pretty much the same.

How so? The group pushing all this tried for several years to get an ISD. They didn't try to get a city until they lost a close vote in the legislature.

If you want to see a gerrymandered map, look at what Baton Rouge did to include the Mall of Louisiana in the city.
