I went to Hawaii in 2021 and holy shite it took me some getting used to the temperature.

The big island is absolutely incredible.

Are you talking about agriculture or people?

The sections near the coast are nice, the central and eastern part of the state are basically dessert and getting dryer.

Headed out to Corcoran and Tulare lake to help a buddy out on his cotton farm next week. Kind of looking forward to it. Its going to be hot though. Would not doubt if that is not some of the best farm land in the world.

I love the ocean (large bodies of water) and it is a bit unappealing to me that the Pacific is so cold...I am used to GOM water temps

I completely get it.

I only go for drives on the beach during sunset. Fishing/clamming/crabbing and winter storm watching.

I go to Hawaii or Florida to lay on a beach.

I agree. It is gorgeous and the experience is great outside of the big cities.

I spent a week in Paso Robles and the Central Coast last year and loved it.

San Francisco may be the most beautiful city in the country if you can ignore all of the other stuff. I used to go there on vacation. Now I stick to the wine country.

That's part of what makes California's politics so sad.

yes ... L.A. sucks so bad.

Sucked so bad on Tuesday when I had to hike in mid 70's weather in Griffith Park while passing super hot ladies and friendly families. And the weekend should be awful - mild temps, plenty of entertainment and world class street food/restaurants.

Keep your BR/NOLA etc. Great place to grow up for sure ... but you can have it.

These days, it's the one that's always sitting at the end of the bar, 20 years past its prime.

Even Zack Wilson would go, "yeah, I can do better."

All that said, I still love the Tahoe area.

I take some satisfaction in knowing that Yosemite is not in California, its on Federal Lands.

The most beautiful part of their state isn't even their state.

I played golf in Palm Desert and went snowboarding at Heavenly. The views in Palm Desert were nice from the greenery of the course, but the rest was meh. We were fortunate to have clear skies all week in South Lake Tahoe. The views of the lake were spectacular. I’d love to go back in the summer and play golf at Edgewood Tahoe (technically Nevada, but still).

Grew up there.

There are a lot more sane people than most realize. It’s just the cities. But I get it. However, I’d rather pay the sunshine tax for quality of life than the corrupt AND ugly humid Louisiana.

As far as natural beauty goes, you can’t beat it.

Even the shithole metro areas are naturally pretty.

this is all bullshite. Huge population meaning huge amounts of trash and material item waste. largest homeless population in the country that doesnt care about the environment. Go into the large cities there and tell me they care about the environment. Its just another virtue signal.

Reality is we'd be fricked if California goes under, Democratic haven or not.

Not sure about this. their largest export rt now is electric vehicles. Ive never needed an electric vehicle to survive.

I do like almonds, but i can make it without them too.

And those environmentalists use more water than every other state.

The problems with Cali have nothing to do with the scenery.
