Relax. This is all for leverage. On both sides. Neither wants to live with 6 years of monthly payments. There will be a settlement. This will not be tried.

The average time from argument to decision on the Roberts court has been about 90-110 days.
This deserves its own thread. You should start it.

For kicks and giggles, go to tRant and ask whether LSU would have won it all this year with a barefoot kicker and a barefoot qb.
Election night 1976. Carter elected president. Even in grade school, I knew that was a tragedy.

Section 11.A.1.d might be the place to look.

But 11.A.1.s and 11.A.3. could be problems there. We don't know what written notices were given.
I upvoted your post, for the second sentence alone. Truer words have not been spoken.

There is no allegation that LSU has not paid or has refused to pay.

Well, it depends. LSU told BK's reps yesterday, according to the lawsuit, that they had not yet formally terminated BK. That could be construed as an attempt to avoid the buyout.

quote:

Legally, this lawsuit is for a "Declaratory Judgment" to determine the relationship status between Kelly and LSU.

Spot on. The only real issue in the lawsuit is whether or not he was fired for cause.

quote:

Practically, it is a bullshite move designed to move the needle via social media. It is unnecessary and preliminary.

It was done to increase BK's leverage. Whether or not it was necessary depends on the status of the negotiations. Starting now, BK has to look for a job. If he is ready to retire then time is of the essence. So upping the leverage may be prudent for BK and his team.

quote:

Both sides were in active negotiations and would have likely settled without all of the dirty laundry.

And they will settle. It is not in BK's best interests to take a month by month buyout and risk further litigation over whether he is making good faith efforts to find a job.

quote:

To its credit, LSU has not responded to the allegations yet.

LSU has not been served. The lawsuit may have been filed today (electronically), but the court is not open. They probably will not be served for at least another week. At that time, they will request the extension. But I suspect that they will have a response draft prepared by the end of the week.

The bowl game where we didn't have a QB.

Which one was that?

In 2021 he played in 4 games. To play in any more, including the bowl game, would have burned the RS.

In 2022 he played in the bowl game in mop up work for JD during the 63-7 win.

In 2023 he started the bowl game.

In 2024 he started the bowl game.

So are you trying to fault him for not burning his RS? That was probably a coach's decision anyway

I don't know who the next coach will be, but if there was a "none of the above" option I could bet I would take it.

Vegas must make a killing on these types of bets.

And SAT OUT of a bowl game...

What are you talking about? He played in our last 3 bowl games.

It sounds like Kelly has no aspirations of coaching again because why else would you choose payments over 6 years over a lump sum?

His lawyers filed the suit for leverage. In the end, BK probably will take a lump sum settlement, just not the sub $30m that LSU wanted.

Anything that happens between BK and LSU from here on out is for leverage, pure and simple. Trying to publicly give LSU a black eye is part of that.

Given that the contract requires BK to make good faith efforts to find a new job commensurate with his skill the level the only real issue before the judge is whether he was fired with or without case. With cause firing reasons are set forth in the contract.

If this case ends, and BK wins, LSU can file suit a year or two later and seek a reduction in payments because of BK's lack of good faith in seeking a new job. Given that, and the length of the buyout, it will probably settle sometime before the summer.

LOL.

LSU fans would want to fire a head coach who won the NC, went 15-0, but won every game by less than 7 points.

The Soviets had an overwhelming advantage in manpower and equipment. The USA was out if atomic weapons and the Soviets hd all of the research needed tk develop the bomb.

Read Allies at War by Tim Bouverie. Great analysis of the negotiations and power balance between the USA, UK, and the Soviets. As a bonus, you’ll also find out that Churchill had wine with breakfast.
Went last year. It was raining and had been raining for days. The grounds are basically gravel/mud, which would be difficult for a scooter when wet. The crowds aren’t bad, and would likely be accommodating and helpful.

Try emailing them. I suspect that would be an easier way to contact them. I am sure that they can be more helpful.
Killing it is a terrible idea. I would rather government inaction than the party in power running amok.

This. The files won’t reduce the debt or the deficit, won’t shrink the size of government, and won’t roll back the administrative state. These are the important issues.

NYC has been a lost cause for decades. This election just made it obvious to all, especially the lemmings.
No. For political reasons. But it will be cover in 2-3 weeks when the funds they were ordered to use run out.
So, in this day and age, how good are the powers that be at disinformation?

Edited to correct typo.
