Just switch to god's AC aka roll the windows down and sweat like a hooker.
I wouldn't mind doing this, were it not for the child I have to transport on a regular basis.

Amazon ac compressor ( you can get package deals with compressor, expansion valve, drier filter and compressor oil) - $138.00 - $200.00 +/-
2 cans of ac system flush - $40.00
Amazon auto ac gauges- $40.00
Rent a tool vacuum pump from auto parts $0.00
2 cans of r134 - $40+/-
Looks like $320-$400 if you do it.
Are you reasonably mechanically inclined?
YouTube videos and 3-4 hours of your own time.

Take it to a shop
Let them tell you what the problem is and quote you $1000
Then go YouTube how to fix it for about $50

Buy a new car. The repair will exceed the value of that car.

Damn, they still make those?
I thought they went out of style with John Shaft

The car was only a couple years old when that went out, it cost a lot of money.
Two years old and no manufacturer warranty? Not a Chrysler Dodge fan but I thought there warranty was more than two years.

Not on the fuel pump. I think it was basically just engine and transmission manufacturer warranty. It's been a while, I don't remember the details. They did give me a free loaner vehicle though.

I had to go inside to get vape and a swisher sweet and a scratch-off.
That’s not an Altima by any chance huh?

I agree it’s probably the compressor.
Super easy to change and recharge. Get free use of vac pump and gauges at AutoZone.
Watch a few YouTube videos how to vacuum and recharge.
I’ve repaired 3 auto AC systems. 2 compressors and 1 tube leak. Easy peasy. It’s not a mysterious magical repair skill.
Get OEM compressors and tubing.

We were road tripping from BR to Colorado a few weeks ago. Just about ready to stop in Dallas after the first day (keeping below 8 hour days for the kiddos), and the AC went out. Turned out to be a hole knocked in the road shrapnel had taken out our condenser coil. $1500 rush labor to get back on the road the next day.

Just replaced the AC in my daughter’s 2016 4 runner last week. The total was $1,500. Had two other quotes for about $1,600. Make sure they give you a lifetime replacement warranty.

Sounds like a bad Fetzer valve.

It's all ball bearings these days. And these windows are filthy.

Could be something as simple as a broken accessory belt.
