In 2015 I was the sole income earner with a pregnant wife in med school and my existing vehicle was totaled by a real estate agent Karen on I-85 and $25k was all I could afford to replace it. Why are you such an a-hole?

I was quoted $4000 to fix the switch box at my dealer…
Sought a second opinion, it was low Freon. Only $300

A sparkplug gap tool from many years before had fallen and wedged itself between the core support and the condenser, gouging a hole in the tubing of the condenser.
New condenser from VatoZone was $100. Another can of ACPro for $30.
All in I was back to a cold AC for $160.
Still was working fine when I reluctantly sold the car with 260K on it.

AC went out in my car. Wife took it to the shop the guy told my wife fan and resistor and would be $675 and that the resistor alone was almost $400. got both parts on amazon for $78 and took me an hour to change both.

You still got fricked on the low freon price. DIY might have been $50 tops.
