Clown world

Dropping standardized test scores from admissions because you think certain minority groups are too unintelligent to score well on them is blatant racism.

How can anyone defend this?

This is so unfair to the high school kids who are of a more academic/scholarly bent.

Now you are going to have even more people who are just not very smart but are “well-rounded” going to schools they have no business going to

It’s an inefficient allocation of young minds.

Gonna lower the standards and make differentiating between applicants more difficult

The only thing that will be used in admissions now is racial quotas.

I think we're all aware of the flaws and biases of standardized tests.

I've never been wild about standardized testing as a measure of college readiness, but I see where it's necessary especially coming from NOLA where schools vary so widely. Yea...more I think about it...this is fricking dumb

Hope all those graduates from Berkeley cashed in on a career with their degrees while it's still valuable.

A college education is the most overpriced and antiquated thing in the world and the value proposition of going to college is dropping by the year thanks to horrible policy by the federal government that allows for colleges to set up a racket in which they can charge whatever they want because the federal government covers student loans upon default. Diluting the talent pool of prospective employees probably won’t help this trend.

We should move away from the idea that you have to spend close to 100k to attend college and move more towards specialized certification programs. Do away with the notion that taking art appreciation or feminist studies does anything to help you if you are going into IT or engineering.

My wife's very good college had stringent GPA inflation controls which put their students at a disadvantage for grad school and employment after graduation.

They’ll have to do away with grading to keep them in school. I suppose Cal will now award participation degrees.

Not so much racism, but the fact that they were paywalls for years and don't test for aptitude at all.

So to get admitted to a University of California college you have to have the COVID-19 vaccine, but don’t have to have a ACT/SAT score

what a time to be alive!
