Like everything else in life you people are overcomplicating it. It is not intended to be like Universal in Orlando. It is not intended to be the Magic Kingdom. In all likelihood it may be a 'test' park to gauge if they want to have a more formal presence in the future. Should the market not support it, they cut bait and don't lose a fortune. Geeez! Don't overthink it. Also, unlike Universal in Orlando, I am sure the tickets won't be $200 per day.

It is weird that this board takes shots at Frisco and Collin County when it is an incredible place to live with so much to offer. But, oh no, there are people who may not look like me! I therefore must hate on it from my shitty home and life.

Looks like they hired the guys who designed the original it’s a small world ride at Disney and gave them 10% of the budget they requested.

What an absolute meltdown over a harmless joke. Every day must be an absolute struggle for you.

It's a smaller park geared towards families with young children. Similar to Peppa Pig Land and Legoland in Florida.
It does not open until July 1st.

Has to be a group of Indian investors and they went on the cheap after Universal charged them millions to use the Universal name. It has to be. This is not Universal quality.

Yes, most people don’t do their research and realize this park was built specifically for kids and it reflects that. It was advertised and built that way.

You do realize it’s not the thrill of the ride that’s being criticized but the decor/theming, right? My kids would have a better time sitting on my lap while I drive the tractor. It’s more scenic and I could even draw shrek on some cardboard boxes and spread them around the yard

If you're not going to at least match Six Flags quality, why bother building this in the first place?
It's not meant to be like Six Flags. It's supposed to be for younger kids.
That said, the Shrek ride looks weak as hell and is closer to what you get from a traveling carnival than a permanent ride. My 4 year old would be pretty disappointed considering he see's more impressive animatronic shite in people's lawns for Halloween and Christmas.

Adults not allowed in park? This sounds creepy.

Busch Gardens in Tampa is and always will be the GOAT theme park

This whole park is aimed at very young kids. Not sure what the issue is here

As long as the Catholic Church is not running this place.
Sorry sounds like a bad idea

Well then it’s obviously not aimed at you.
Just went and looked up the cost and for a room plus tickets for a pair of adults and 2 children 5&7 it’s $880 for a long weekend. Not bad for a young family that’s yet to maybe splurge on the Universal in Orlando or even Disney and really wanting to see how they’d handle a day in a park.
This place will make money because there was obviously a market for it.

You are missing the point, the shrek “ride” is some shrubs and pained wooden cutouts. Nobody is expecting it to be Disney world but there’s clearly a lack of effort

Outdoor theme park in the metro with possibly the worst year around weather of any major metro in the US seems like a retarded idea
This is so true. Does anywhere else compare in terms of how many days of the year are too hot/too cold?
Can’t stand the weather here.

I lived in Texas and I don't think you mentioned wind. The wind that comes with tropical storms, vs. the wind that comes with Blue Northers.
Those plywood figures don't stand a chance of staying in the park, give a goo wind.
One thing might keep them there: If they delaminate from the rain storms, they might be anchord by dirt, but if they used particle boards and didn't seal all the joints, and waterproof the back. termites (Formosan and other wise) are always hungry.
All that bare dirt is going to be fire ant heaven.
Tacky is just the start.
