Did they get so excited about hospitals being built, the new library, knock knock museum, etc..that they want to build these units?

I agree new shiny steel beams going up in Baton Rouge is long needed and it is exciting, but let's not get too far ahead of ourselves.

Hope he likes hurricane damage.

Eta: Downvotes from baws who don't understand simple physics.

Base VS height...too much leverage.

He does this every few years. Comes out with a design concept for a large project that never gets built. Gets him publicity and allows him to apply for awards within the architecture community.

Rinse and repeat. Rinse and repeat.

The building’s pencil design is necessitated by the dimensions of the property on which Trahan would build. It’s a lot of just 2,185 square feet

Since I started on TigerDroppings there has been a plethora of Legendary OT people who once lived in Baton Rouge have moved to Houston or TX. But also a few have moved from Houston to Baton Rouge.

As envisioned, the development would be a sleek, glass pencil skyscraper with a ground-floor lobby and, above it, 23 one- and two-bedroom units of about 2,000 square feet each. Only one unit would comprise each floor.

No way in fricking hell would anyone with a brain pay that much to live in downtown BR. For that amount of money, you could build a mansion in any other part of BR.

Not gonna lie, I am looking to downsize to a condo to keep in Baton Rouge after I make my next move. Say what you will but I go to every LSU game and have people and business here that will have me back often enough to make a condo worthwhile.

I read the first part of that article and thought "OK, cool" and then I read the "one unit per floor" and though uh oh. Then I saw the price tag and spit all over my computer screen. 2.5 mil for a condo in BTR? GTFO.
