re: To over 45 years old, crime & murder rate is 1/3 compared 70s-90s. It's not worse, better.

No but that doesn't mean their irrationality is justified

You do realize all the hidden stats the dem ran cities don’t report. I know personally BRPD has cover ups that they never report.

Back then, criminal activity, including murder was actually counted.
Now, SUVs are blamed for mass shootings.
Your point (and shite data) is moot.

Those number very clearly don't reflect what's going on currently

Correct. Violent crime wasn't higher here in the 80s

Overall murder rate is pretty useless. No one cares that blacks were murdering each other in higher numbers in the 90s. The issue is no where is safe now for White people.

To those who will downvote, that doesn't make these stats any less true.
Sure if we could go back 4 to 6 years in time as shown in most of those graphics. Those were simpler times back when we could define a woman. Also before the effect of the tech cartel shutting down viewpoints, promoting other viewpoints, antifads, covid, shutdowns, the summer of love & it’s complete shutdown of personal responsibility for some, and the lunacy of drag queens being pushed in elementary schools and becoming the face of our navy.
Also it’s hard to ignore how poor uniform reporting of crime was in the past and still can be especially for comparisons to pre-2020 as Biden changed starting for 2020 reporting making it harder to compare to prior years.
Also when talking 70s to today per capita rates can sometimes get overly diluted by a population that increased from just over 200 million in 1970 to over 330 million today. Even in 1990 we were around 250 million.
Per capita is one comparison but not the only comparison.
As far as media and news being more accessible and affecting view points people used to say that 4 to 6 to even 10 years ago, and for most part unless you live in an elitist bubble or can afford to keep moving further out every few years many view crime as worse today than to 4 - 10 years ago not just worse as compared to 80s and 90s.

Hey moron, those numbers reflect reported crimes.
Not actual crimes.
With the lack of enforcement and punishment there is a corresponding lack of reporting of crimes which skews the numbers.
So, no it's not safer in any way right now. I was there.

Man I'm looking for data and can't find any. I would bet the violent crime/murder rates were higher, though.
There has been an uptick since 2019 for sure, generally, but the rates are still nowhere close to the 80s/90s.

I had to google deaths of despair- seems like it is also suicide and alcohol/drug related I still do not understand the difference but I did not do an in depth study just looked at the first hits on google
I came across it in a book (Deaths of Despair and the Future if Capitalism), a very depressing book about how changes in lower-middle class society have caused a huge increase in deaths of despair specifically in white makes between 20 and 60 or so. Blue collar culture has eroded since the middle of last century, and it disproportionally affected that demographic. The book dug into several reasons why from globalization to the failings of the US health care system (opioid prescriptions) to the decline in families being part of a church. The phenomenon is basically an American problem, you don't see it elsewhere in the same way.

Food for thought. I can’t find 2008 through current, but doesn’t seem like white people are being hunted more than the 80s
ETA
Stilly trending down down from the 80s

You think they're doing this with murders in a statistically significant way? How?

I tried finding charts that ended more recent, but would take a lot more digging. I can see if I can find one ending in 2020 or later.
It's undisputed that crime was dropping consistently and rapidly since the 90s. 2020-2023 has reversed that trend. Almost all of your graphs end 2018 or earlier.
