To over 45 years old, crime & murder rate is 1/3 compared 70s-90s. It's not worse, better.

Tigerdroppings might be one of the few websites that has a significant older population compared to other sites because majority of what I see on here is how society is doomed and 70s-90s was much better, when it was significantly worse in terms of murder/crime by 2x what it is today. I tried finding graphs that extended to 2023, but some were hard to find. The media and news being way more accessible today compared to those times is what makes people think it's worst, but if they actually did the research they would see it's not. Louisiana is down as well. Louisiana stats (which are down) on last pic.

The United States is experiencing way over 50% less crime and murder per capita today than the 70s-90s. It's extremely good today compared to then.

I have a feeling a lot of older men's egos won't be able to handle this data, and will downvote. To those whose egos can't handle this objective data and had prior preconceived notions of how the US and Louisiana has changed shattered, don't take it offensively. Real men acknowledge when they're wrong and carry on.

It's undisputed that crime was dropping consistently and rapidly since the 90s. 2020-2023 has reversed that trend. Almost all of your graphs end 2018 or earlier.

I was almost with you, but none of your charts actually go beyond covid, so the whole argument of no increase in crime since covid is bunk.

Plus I lived in New orleans, 3-9 hours for cops to show up if they show up at all. People arent even reporting crimes anymore.

Crime is a localized issue. I don't care what the crime rate is in Beaumont in a vacuum. It's way higher where I live than it was 35 years ago

Does this factor in all the serious crimes that are not being prosecuted?

your charts all end at various weird dates, and it’s trending back up the 20/21/22 I believe

but your overall point stands that there wasn’t the ability to fear porn everything

also with how safe it is, imagine how much more safe it could be with a few simple changes

This was broadly correct up until 2020. Crime rates are generally creeping back to early 90s levels.

Judge Eboni Rose Johnson keeps letting violent thugs out of jail on little, to no bail. While out on bond they kill. I would bet the POS who gunned down that lady in her driveway in the Sherwood Forest area was a violent, repeat offender, with multiple priors. The CJS in BR is beyond broken with these activist Judges out of the 19th JDC. These activist Judges are reckless and dangerous to all the law abiding, tax paying citizens of BR. Another retard will replace Broome and cycle of dysfunction continues. It’s only going to continue to fester and get far worse.

Murders are down but shootings are probably up. Getting shot back in the 70s-90s was a death sentence but advances in emergency medical/trauma care are helping victims stay alive now.

That's a fair case. I can try to find just Louisiana stats, not sure if that'd be too specific and be available. a

Overall murder rate is pretty useless. No one cares that blacks were murdering each other in higher numbers in the 90s. The issue is no where is safe now for White people.

Remember, a lot of jurisdictions have decriminalized or changed the threshold for a lot of crimes. So we're not exactly dealing apples to apples.

Find something 2021 2022 2023 that is a proper aggregate and I guarantee there will be a big spike in everything except drug crimes.
