Watching some golf on CBS and some guy gets on there and talks about the Boston tea party had rooting and looting like black people aren’t free or something. I couldn’t believe when I heard this guy basically saying it was okay to loot and roit.

Well personally I would say that one event a few days ago does not qualify as "much", especially not when compared to what happened a week ago. If you have more links I might consider changing my phrasing.

I'm not going to hold your hand through this. This seems pretty massive for one incident, but I've been disengaged from social media and only saw it when briefly checking on my timeline and ppl I'm following had RT'd it with comments about how justified the looters were. You can keep your head buried in the sand though

It's estimated at about $100k of goods looted. For comparison, more than $80million is stolen from retail stores in America every single day on average. It was roughly 0.1% of a typical day's worth.

I would not say looting is justified. Understandable how/why it would happen, but not justified.

Me? Because I characterized one looting event over the last few days involving only hundreds out of hundreds of thousands of protesters as "not much" looting? What is the standard here for "much"? Anything more than zero looting? That seems a mighty high standard to hold hundreds of thousands of unorganized people to.

There's no justification for burning, destroying, defacing and looting now or in the many years I've seen it happen before.

There has always been a fringe of opportunists who take advantage of these situations, always.

This isn't new. It's like there's a game plan implemented in these idiots at birth and is activated when these incidents occur.

I don't get it.Rinse,repeat.

I'm saying if you bothered to do the research, I'd wager it's far from uncommon lately. I will not do that for you though

Now you need to define "uncommon".

Being a pawn shop you would think so.

Hopefully they have medical insurance though

You are a terribly weak man. Your parents, if they haven’t already abandoned you, must feel shame when you visit.

Looting is just part of the "new normal" in this country.

This is so wrong on so many levels. Why is this okay?

Truth. All the other people were just a consequence of systemic racism.

Don't get me wrong, I believe what happened to George Floyd is wrong. I have no issue with peaceful protest.

However, the media is driving another evil narrative that is enabling this violence. It needs to stop.

The Minneapolis riots, alone, are reported to cost upwards of $500 million in damages, which makes it one of the most costly riots in US history, up there with the LA riots.

Minneapolis looks like a freaking war zone.

It does seem the news has gone out of their way to minimize the coverage though.

I watched 2 nights of aerial coverage of LA "protests". The news choppers flew over actual peaceful protests while there was active looting and vandalism only blocks away. That fact is backed up by police scanner traffic that was ongoing during the news coverage of "protests". So, yes, certain news networks went out of their way not to report what was actually going on, and their is no way for them to deny it.

Yeah, zero should be the standard in a society of laws.

So? It’s $100k too much. Last time I looked at a P&L I didn’t see a budget amount for looting.

You're comparing one incident to the daily total of an entire country? Not sure the point you're trying to make, but $100k in theft isn't exactly like stuffing a couple Kit Kats in your back pocket.
