"Violence isn't the answer."

Yes. Yes it is. That's the universal sign for "don't frick with me" and is the only thing some people understand.

Yeah, zero should be the standard in a society of laws.
Great. Now let's take the standard that we apply to unorganized protesters and apply it to trained and paid officers. If anything more than zero looting is "too much", then anything more than zero unjust killings is "too much".

Because what people took issue with here is that I said there "isn't much looting going on", and this dude jumped on me with a link to some looting. How would it be received if someone said "cops don't kill many people unjustly" and I responded by posting a link to an incident?

So? It’s $100k too much.
Fine, and I agree. Let's just be fair with our application of standards.

They definitely account for shrinkage.

It won’t stop until enough Looters are shot.

Looters don’t care about George Floyd or police brutality or justice. Why protestors want to associate with them is stupefying.

You're comparing one incident to the daily total of an entire country?
Isn't that what the poliboard does all fricking day, compare a few killings by cop to all murders and say "look how fricking inconsequential"?

They don't. If you think they do want to be associated with looters, then you need to get your "news" from some other place.

Make up your mind. Are we now applying “standards” to unorganized protesters? Zero looting is too much and any unjust killing is too much.

Of course they do. It’s typically not looting. Your argument is vague.

Look, I said that there isn't much looting going on anymore, and some people took exception to that, including yourself, saying that any amount whatsoever is "too much". That is setting a standard of behavior.

Says the guy who advocated shooting the looters and leaving them to die on page 1.

It's not vague, it's putting the amount of something in perspective in order to gauge whether it is "much".

But how are you going to criticize my argument and tell me to make up my mind when you said looters should be executed on the spot, yet any unjust killing is too much?

That's a pretty pathetic deflection but I guess that proves you didn't really have a point

Check yourself. I said looting, period. I took exception to looting. Period. You referred to standards of unorganized protesters and law enforcement.

Looting, theft, mayhem, arson. All illegal. You want to loot, be prepared to pay the price for your illegal actions.

The point was clear, that looting incident doesn't amount to "much" in the scheme of things.

And considering that you consider my pointing out of hypocrisy to be a "deflection", I assume you don't have much of a point, either?

Neither was 9/11 in the grand scheme of global terror deaths

I called you out, you, for whatever reason ranted about the PT board, then you're upset I called it deflection. Just own it. It's not a big deal.

You inserted yourself into this. The guy was grilling me on how I define "much", and you barged into the conversation. I took that to mean that you took exception to that characterization, as well. And I brought up law enforcement to you as another frame of reference to gauge your idea of "too much" criminal activity. You claim to hold everyone to the same standard, which is great, except...
quote:

Looting, theft, mayhem, arson. All illegal. You want to loot, be prepared to pay the price for your illegal actions.
You are now doubling down on your opinion that cops should murder looters without consequence.

Do you not see the problem here?

Anything more than zero looting? That seems a mighty high standard to hold hundreds of thousands of unorganized people to.

So, it is a high standard to hold everyone in this country to not to destroy other's property and/or steal shite?

Seems like a pretty fricking low standard to me, but you do you though.

Right, but we did something about it. Whatever amount of looting going on is not much in the grand scheme, but they are still breaking the law and we should do something about it. There are very few cops and departments that are corrupt and "overzealous" in their work, not much in the scheme of things, but we should do something about it. Does the logic break down anywhere here?

I have absolutely NO problem with holding EVERYONE accountable for their actions.

I mentioned the PT board because I know you spend enough time there to know what goes on. It's non-stop about the cops barely kill anyone, and blacks kill X times more people, and nobody there has a problem with people minimizing things that way. But then I do the same by putting a handful of looters into perspective and you have a problem with it. You know exactly what I'm talking about, and you know it's not a deflection. Just own the hypocrisy. It's not a big deal.

A poster said it’s estimated $500,000,000 in damage in Minneapolis alone. That’s not inconsequential
