The scale of looting last week really hasn't gotten enough attention

It's infuriating that thousands will face no consequences for destroying businesses and livelihoods throughout the country. There's probably hundreds of stories similar to the Shen family that won't make the news.

He is a racist for not just giving up and letting them loot his store. He has insurance.

Looting is a derogatory term used to marginalize black people for expressing their anger with being systemically murdered by the institutions of this country. White silence is the violence here, not this act of peaceful expression. These business owners need to stop choosing property over lives. I hope they learned how their privilege leads to black bodies being put in danger.

What is interesting is that I have seen multiple tweets and reports from PDs around the country concerning persons of interest and arrests in connection to the rioting and looting.
I watched a lot of coverage, and there was a noticeable shift of the approach of the police. Police helicopters started actively zooming in on car's license plates. Reports of police taking still-frame photos of random rioters were widespread. The efforts to find the most active and responsible of the looters have not gone away. PDs are still actively pursuing leads and making arrests.
I suspect there were multiple PD employees back at the stations doing nothing but taking screen captures and filing location reports. All of this will be used in the weeks ahead to track down people.
And, when you consider the amount of idiots who filmed themselves, using their own devices, committing felonies and posted those videos online, some of these arrests are going to be really easy.

There's absolutely no reason to put that much effort into this. No DA's will be prosecuting these people.
