My brother lives in bellingrath lakes. Streets flooded back of neighborhood houses are taking water and it's getting higher

What's the possibility of gulf moisture getting sucked north on the backside of this thing and dumping more rain in the BR area?

A frontal system that is coming through is supposed to suck this disturbance up into the Ohio valley ending the rain in south LA.

Parents lost everything. Left the house. Mom can't swim. Dad had to carry her out. They are in the truck. Water up to their laps. Trying to reach friends across the street on higgerr ground. Truck was fricked anyway. If they can't make it, will have to get on top of truck and wait for boat.

Mom's best friend lost everything. Both dogs drowned.

Geez that sucks. Hang in there. The important thing is they are safe and hopefully will be rescued soon.

My brother is in there using a boat to help evacuate some elderly folks to higher homes. Tell them to be on the look out for help if they need it.

Mom, step dad, and grandparents are off Thibideaux rd.
Their specific lot has never flooded, until today. They moved elsewhere in the neighborhood to higher ground, but need to be evacuated. Step dad has MS and is in wheel chair. Nothing I can do

Willow wood Acres on the corner of Gurney and Blackwater in Central. They live in the very last house along the canal. Trying to make it down the main street and then across gurney to a friends house.

This is all relayed to me by brother. He warned me not to call mom because she's not okay.

I'm sorry to hear that. Keep us updated. I'm heading back to Zachary on the comite to check on my buds mom's house who has about 8' of water underneath it.

Yes central. They still have their dog with them. It was the friend who had dogs drown. But my parents dog is pretty heavy so hopefully they can reach dry area soon since he's not exactly a dog you can tote under your arm.

I should have taken him with me when I left yesterday. Ugh. I didn't even think about it.
