Ahh, the tried and true OT meme of I'm a special boy and the data doesn't apply to me. lmao.

You guys always use anecdotes to argue against the data.

You'll get a lot of downvotes, but probably the biggest offenders of highway tailgating are from jacked up trucks

Every downvote represents a manlet compensating for his height and/or lengh.

The number of badges on your truck isn't going to make it grow.

The size of vehicles has gotten obnoxious. Fittingly the reputation BMW drivers used to have has been usurped by truck drivers.

I'm just going to assume you're a biker who rides virtually in the middle of the street even though there is a biker lane.

Possibly records your rides on a GoPro and posts them to Instagram when you don't stop at a stop sign and yell at a truck that almost hits you when he's turning?

I do t know what the article says, all I know is that many pickup truck drivers are some of the biggest jackasses on the road. Speeding around corners like they’re in a sports car, accelerating quickly off the line, tailgating, and just driving aggressively. Then if that’s not enough, half the time their headlights blind you.

Biggest jackasses on the road.

This makes the same point (assuming the data is true) that statistically, drunk walking is more deadly than drunk driving.

Vehicle fatalities have continued to fall, even with more drivers on the road.

Maybe they should stop being poor and buy trucks too.

Maybe they should stay out of the road?

Just a hypothesis.

"Pedestrians..." Just like with "teens" they mean aka blacks who don't fricking care about or understand simple order, laws, ettiquette etc. They walk out into traffic, at night, wearing all black... they don't cross at crosswalks or wait for the lights at crosswalks. Many will walk in the street. Live somewhere with a sizeable population of black people. You'll see everything I'm talking about.

Why didn't they compare new trucks to older trucks and not small sedans and suvs, or new Sedans to older sedans.

It's a hit piece on pick up trucks...

because the question is why the rise in pedestrian deaths since 2010, when prior to 2010, pedestrian deaths were decreasing

its not a comparison from the 1980s

and it can't be all contributed to cell phones, since other countries with similar cell phone usage haven't seen a rise like the US

Sorry you're gay, buddy. Maybe one day you'll snap out of it and realize you're not special because you wear spandex shorts and ride for miles in roads that were built for vehicle traffic on your lame bike with its seat implanted in your arse. Your Prius doesn't make you better than anyone either.

Keep crying though.

Doing as much work as all the people saying that they'd "almost certainly" be dead if they were driving a car whenever they got into their last accident.

That's an interesting take.

And if you believe oil to be non-renewable, an incredibly selfish one.

A substance that is absolutely foundational to the survival of modern civilization, and we waste it with abandon.

There currently is NO substitute.

CAFE standards and things like the chicken tax started way before Obama but yea, government meddling with the market plays a big role in why American SUV/Truck industry has become larger, more profitable.

Suspiciously specific and insecure as frick. lmao.

I ride on the trails and not the road.

Wrong yet again.

Why are yall so mad when data shows that giant trucks are killing people?

From F350's to Mini Coopers, they all had cyclists.
