Have the truck manufacturers reached the absolute limit on the front end/hood heights ? Seems like the newer models are now about 5+ feet or more...HOW can you even SEE the pavement directly in front of you ??

Why are yall so mad when data shows that giant trucks are killing people?
So do black males aged 16-40, and way more of them than trucks. Do we want to have that conversation too?

thousands of pedestrians? Like people who are on foot or a bike.. not in an automobile?

People need to quit walking on the streets…

I think he means the Soros paid protestors who stand in the roads. Kind of like Death Race 2000.

Non sequitur. Stay on topic. This thread is about giant trucks and SUVs.

We can do that in a separate thread. Get back on topic ITT.

I have a 2020 LS500 daily driver. It’s a sweet ride to go along with my SL550 weekend ride. Those big trucks do impose dangerous driving conditions I keep my distance as half of them don’t even know how to drive worth a shite. I don’t understand why people buy trucks just to be their daily driver and never tow or haul anything which is what they are designed for.

I’d imagine 80% of Americans drive something they don’t need and complain to the government about being broke.

Agreed.
Cellphones cause more accidents than drunk drivers.

When I was buying my car I learned that Infiniti stopped making sedans completely. Those things were fun to drive. Apparently they're bringing one or two models back at some point but right now it's SUV or nothing (so I now drive a QX60).

yep. I've gotten into more than one "pull over" confrontations with these folks.

I feel like we have that conversation every single day.

Yep.
They need undercover police vehicles to drive around all day and look for this. And make the penalty extremely draconian.
I see it constantly even going 75-80 on the interstate.
This is a huge problem we, collectively as a society, need to address.

Operating a cell phone while driving needs to have similar penalties as DUI.
Also, with how big trucks and suvs are getting, it's probably time to create another DL class.

I had a buddy who got pulled over in his neighborhood for talking on the phone while driving, not even texting. And it was like a $300 ticket. It's just hard to see the texters.
Undercover police vehicles need to sit up high so they see down into car windows while on the road. 1st offense, huge fine. 2nd offense, loss of license 180 days and required driving school.
