The country lost its way when retina searing white LED lights started being installed

There is nothing soothing nor romantic about the harsh white LED lights that are found on streets, houses, parking lots, and many businesses.
Europe switched to LED lamps and still have warm, yellow tones. The mostly clueless American public decided our entire country should be lit up like the inside of a Dollar General.
Hopefully one day we return to sanity.

Nah.
It all went to shite when men stopped carrying pocket knives on a daily basis.

I don’t walk out of the house without a pocket knife.

We peaked as a country in 1999.

We used to be a proper country.

There is a younger fella who goes to the Kenner council meetings and complains about the street lights and that they don't use ones with the proper lumens.....

Baton Rouge needs as many bright lights that it can get. It's typically dark as hell on most streets while driving at night.

I hate the harsh cool white lights everywhere. My neighbor is an a-hole with floods pointed right at our patio. Lights up the woods like a damn football stadium. Doubt he sports a pocket knife.

I won’t eat at restaurants with bright, white lighting,

If I was designing it, I would install 2700K or less LED fixtures outdoors.

3000 - 4000k looks like actual daylight. Everything else is too yellow or too blue.

That just isn't right.

It's best to only use 2700K in the home.
The higher blue wavelengths in the 4000K (and higher) fixtures trick your body into thinking it's still midday and it fricks up your circadian rhythm.
The blue wavelength light is a higher energy and it dominates the visible light at the higher kelvin temps.

The craziest part is that LEDs are so awesome that you can create any color temperature you want and adjust them to do anything. The LEDs on my reef aquarium change the color temperature throughout the day and even simulate thunderstorms and cloud cover. There's no excuse that they have to be that horrible white-blue.

You may be correct, but the older you get, the higher up the spectrum you need to go to see.
