Here's What A 24-Team College Football Playoff Bracket Would Look Like

John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports
The College Football Playoff could look much different if the field eventually expands from 12 teams to 24.
With expansion continuing to be a major topic of discussion across college football, a 24-team playoff format would give more teams an opportunity to compete for a national championship.
Here's a look at what a 24-team College Football Playoff bracket could look like based on the latest rankings, with a total of nine SEC teams making it:
First round:
No. 17 Houston at No. 16 Wake Forest
No. 24 Boise State at No. 9 BYU
No. 20 USC at No. 13 Tennessee
No. 21 South Carolina at No. 12 Ohio State
No. 18 Missouri at No. 15 Texas Tech
No. 23 Oregon at No. 10 Ole Miss
No. 19 Iowa at No. 14 LSU
No. 22 Arizona at No. 11 Notre Dame
Byes:
No. 1 Miami
No. 2 Georgia
No. 3 Utah
No. 4 Indiana
No. 5 Alabama
No. 6 Kentucky
No. 7 Texas
No. 8 UCLA
