Dude they made national news because a lady was living in a trailer working yhree jobs. The
Hell i can go to an area of my own parish and see kids who wear the school uniforms all summer
Providence made the news last time because a lady was working three jobs to support her family that lived in a trailer.
The trailer had no roof.

I bet you can drive that area all day and not see any children who aren’t fully clothed or people starving.

The funny thing is, probably half the line waiting for Gamma Blue 11s were planning to resell them. Capitalism at the grassroots level. They will likely be hot, even though the sneaker market has cooled, because they are the first retro of the 2013 release that has always had a following.

People are still buying, though their debt is increasing and the margin of extra disposable income is decreasing. In short, things are a little tighter. Having said that, what else do you expect after nearly half a decade of compounding covid inflation and decades of China's trade war?

You stupid people come on here and say anything. The shoes will easily resell for a profit.

You would prefer sneaker central planning?

It’s total bullshite. Every restaurant is packed. Every store is packed. Amazon delivery vans up and down every street all day.
Exactly why I don’t watch the news. It’s garbage.

I keep getting downvoted for saying this, but its true.

It’s more so about financial priorities. They struggle when they run out of money before the next check because they bought $hit they shouldn’t have. I get it, prices are high. Can’t hardly get a fast food meal for less than $10 now, with lots over $12-$15.

I love these threads were people make assumptions on others spending without any evidence to speak of haha

People still wait in line for Jordans? I thought that died like 10 years ago.

I had a friend who worked at a local sports store. They sold shoes, sports equipment, etc.
I remember him telling me that when K Swiss was a popular shoe with the black folk, someone called the store and was like "yall got them new Keith sweats?"
Your story just reminded me of that.

Everyone isn’t struggling. Always going to be a lower middle class that does’t ply a trade that makes much and thinks everyone is living else is living off of credit. If you feel that way then you probably are in that group.

Yeah, society is loaded with people buying things they don't need with money they don't have. They do that with food too, stuffing their faces with calories they don't need. Whole generations living with the idea that carrying credit card debt is just a part of life.
