I think you could really point to a lot of things if being fair.
They certainly have a lot higher level of education than the USA as it applies to poorer people. Investment in education above all else for poorer people is how they make their social systems work so well.
However, they also just have a different attitude in general.
Seemingly "intelligent" college age kids participate in social distancing right away instead of going on Spring Break and throwing coronavirus parties.
They also have a lot less "I'm not gonna look like "Karen" and wear a mask" types.

This was prior. Which shows what the “flatten the curve” people goals were working
The flattening of the curve wasn’t supposed to abate total deaths (unless a vaccine came about)

Yes, this is a huge difference between Sweden and many other countries.
Even the people delivering food, working the supermarket register, stocking Walmart shelves, repairing the AC all have paid sick leave.
Makes it much more likely Swedes that have been exposed are willing to follow the government's suggestion to stay home and isolate.
It would be hard to make an argument that Sweden, in general, is not socially distancing better than US areas with similar density and population.

Most of Sweden lives in 3 metropolitan areas. While it’s technically about as dense as the US, in reality it’s more like South Florida.
