Not only did cases surge massively yesterday, as did a new height for deaths in a day (not that it means anything to the US comparison as I detailed earlier), it is also telling that in spite of being active yesterday, the OP had no comment.

Guess it depends on where one gets their news. According to CNN, the 80,000 number is accurate and came from the CDC but it might be referring to 17-18 season. So 80k a year may be possible.

Sweden is doing objectively worse than every other Nordic country but people here want to suck them off for some reason.
They are up to 119 deaths per million. The US is at 79 per million.

Again though we can’t look at the current data and make a comparison. Sweden is in it for the long game. Their near term deaths and cases should be greater, that’s expected. But their curve should be steeper and the goal is long term they get through this much quicker and back to more normal faster.

So just 40 more deaths per million than the United States, despite the U.S. being on total lock down and Sweden continuing on as normal?
Yeah...I'd take Sweden's situation over ours any day of the week. End the charade and start opening the country back up.
