I’m pretty certain there will be no school anywhere in New Orleans for the month of September

I meant more in the LP. They've only announced through Tuesday. Can't speak for elsewhere but large areas of Walker are without power. Hopefully we can get either an early call or power back.

My guess is they won't be back until next week. That's more of a hunch than anything though.

HWY 26

Damn that was one of the back road highways I took to go towards Florida instead of I-10…

Where in Algiers? WWL was reporting some flooding around Gen De Gaulle yesterday on the radio.

Listening to Tommy Tucker is painful at times.

He seems like a nice guy but seems to have issues grasping simple concepts.

Does anyone know how the Westbank, specifically Algiers, fared? My brother is in the National Guard so he can't go take a look and my SIL is anxious to get back to their house.

I'm hearing there was typical wind damage. We fared fine according to a neighbor. Lots of trees down, and a friend in Terrytown had major roof damage. Backup generators for the pumps in Algiers went down overnight Sunday after the worst of the storm had passed and there was a lot of street flooding until 3pm yesterday, when they got 3 pumps working at station 13 (1 of 2 pump stations in Algiers).

Our neighbors stayed (whole house generator) and saw our trampoline fly into the back of our house then into the pool, but it didn't break any windows. I thought about taking the mat off the frame, but we left town Thursday morning for a wedding in Houston, well before it was predicted to blow up. It had been there for 12 years, with lots of St. Aug grass anchoring down the legs. Made through Isaac and Zeta but not this one.

In years past the gfs has always seems to show cold fronts beginning in September and they never seem to make it til damn near October they always seem to fizzle out. Hopefully we actually get one to keep the door closed on the tropics.

Agree, but the last few days his radio program as been a million times more helpful and informative than BTR media has been. They are positively worthless talking to people who are reporting trees down in their yards rather than any officials who can provide useful information.

What’s kind of crazy is the storm was at 999mb last night and it’s somehow 996 mb as of now.

For anyone traveling west on I-10 traffic is a dumpster fire on the bayway before you hit
Mobile westbound. Might want to think about taking the causeway instead.
