He said he would blow up the building if the didn’t get to ride with his boys.

Ah yes. Now I see how this is fine and totally different and more acceptable than wanting to burn it all down. What reputable character Wilson must have.

quote:

But you’re being soft. You’re trying to find something to get mad over. This is nothing. You want to hate him. We get it.

God forbid people have issues with a coach being petulant and threatening the program we love.

To be clear: I don’t hate Wilson, never said I did.

He outed himself as being petulant trash on his way out. Not sure why you’re knighting for him when people are treating him commensurate with how he acted. You must be one of his sycophants.
quote:

He didn’t say burn it all down. He said burn this building down.

What exactly do you think is the difference? Please sell us how one is better than the other.
quote:

How do I take it? That he wants to finish the season as the interim head coach so that his players can end the season at least somewhat normal after the shite show they went through. That fact that this quote bothers yall is baffling

You find it baffling people have issue with an LSU coach making demands of the program with “burn it all down” if he doesn’t get his way?

If you truly find that baffling that says more about you than it does the people who are irritated with Wilson.
Trash will always out itself eventually. Wilson outed himself for being just that.

Good riddance. :doublebird:

They were both willing to give their lives for this program. That should tell you all you need to know.

wtf?

Was Wilson going to remain in the building when he lit the match? A captain going down with the ship?
quote:

This is the part where a bunch of nerds on the internet take this quote out of context since they want someone to blame for the end of this season. In reality, Frank didn't mean he was actually going to burn it down but just that he really wanted to coach these players to the end.

Whether he meant it literally or figuratively is irrelevant. He showed his true colors putting himself and his wishes before the program. His arse should’ve been kicked off campus immediately.

Wilson is now persona non grata.

What’s race got to do with it?

Frank Wilson had the offensive side of the ball ready to play

Found your problem.

It's not a huge thing to me that he left, but Kiffin is now like Urban Meyer in that any little thing he does is going to be magnified and blown out of proportion.

Agree.

I don’t get the issue here. He was on the field with the team and the AD before the game, ostensibly sat in a suite with the LSU brass (was tweeting pics of himself with former LSU coaches also in attendance) he did his interview and left sometime thereafter.

Wilson was the HC for the team last night, not Kiffin.

Today is day 1 of the Kiffin era at LSU, and he said last night he’s been fielding phone calls from player agents non-stop already. But like you said, whatever he does or doesn’t do is going to be met with maximum scrutiny, especially by the brain trust (lol) of the SECR.

Guess it’s okay now. Makes you think.

Why should we care about this again?

These guys are laying it on pretty thick for Wilson.
quote:

It’s irrational to leave a team in the playoffs with a chance to win a natty right now. LSU would have waited until after the season. Lane would have only enhanced his credentials and not lost credibility. He literally left a team he spent 6 years building for what? Money? Titles? Moving forward Ole Miss has just as good a chance as any to win a natty. Case in point: Ole Miss is in the playoffs and LSU isn’t. Our roster is better. We have upgraded our staff after his departure. Lane has never won anything and now he is literally hated more than any coach in the country. His rehabbed image is in the tank. He only managed to get 4 offensive coaches to follow him and zero on defense. He looks like an idiot. And LSU thinks they did something. We are laughing at you.

I can’t tell if you’re trolling or serious. For your sake, I hope trolling.
quote:

I am really glad you brought this up. This reason I was undyingly confident was because what Lane did was so impossibly irrational

It wasn’t irrational at all. He was offered a major promotion and he accepted it.

What’s irrational has been the reaction of some OM posters. What’s irrational is the petty shite slinging over Lane allegations that only became a problem for OM fans after Lane and staff got on the LSU planes. What’s irrational is thinking OM to LSU is a lateral move.

Gumps will never get over Nick Saban saying his biggest regret in life was leaving LSU and that LSU is the best job in the country.

This does send them into fits. This board is all the proof one needs.

It's called projection.

LSU fanbase is always worried and always jealous of Bama and Georgia.

Therefore they assume everyone else suffers with the same.

We call this projection. When it comes to actions vs emotions, it's called wish-casting

Oh the sweet, sweet irony.
