Gonna be pretty hard to determine who's stuff is who's when the kitchen could be 4 blocks from the living room.

After Katrina, looters in Kenner were using boats to access.

correct. IMO NOLA will never flood again like katrina unless water is more than 18-20 of surge. nothing anyone can do at that point.

I’m not saying first responders should have stayed. But looters definitely have come by boats in past storms. I remember when they duct taped Frank the Knife to a pole for a day because they caught him looting.

Kenner isn't Grand Isle

Prevent looters in 140+ mph winds and 15-20' surge?
Okay.
Like I said, take them out, and then let them go back once conditions improve...so they can help help with looting.
This isn't rocket surgery.

haha big difference in kenner and Grand Isle. I mean are the looters specifically targeting an area that was essentially wiped off the map and was made up of almost nothing but camps?
come on man.
them staying was stupid. Just like SFP mentioned earlier, Cameron first responders didnt stay during rita or laura because it doesnt do any good.
nobody was getting to cameron right after laura to start looting and nobody is getting to GI to start looting.
if they want to loot they are hitting nola metro area, not the end of the earth.

Well, I will just say look at the demographics of the two areas to find out why.
I learned from reading here and on Facebook this morning that being able to self evacaute is racist. That is despite the fact that those who got free evacuations and lengthy free hotel stays from Laura last year were black.

I’ve never heard of Harahan or Kenner referred to as the westbank.
Plenty of similarities, but even the westbank doesn't want to be affiliated with Kenna.

Damn that sucks.
I always put my spare vehicles in casino parking garages during a tropical storm. No flooding or tree worries.

Anyone have max wind numbers from around the area?
In my unprofessional opinion, Ida made Cat 5 before landfall based on Recon drops and the Coast Guard readings at GI. That being said, she didn’t really act like a Cat 5 as she ended up with a double eyewall, which spread the power out more evenly across the storm. I think this MIGHT explain why she was able to stay together as a Cat 3 or higher for so long.. she also had marshland to draw energy from, and a perfect inflow/outflow from all sides.
Either way, she was unique and packed a big punch.

This is retarded. LC isn’t New Orleans. It doesn’t take much to figure out why one would receive more attention than the other. JFC
