Right...but I don't think this thread is the place to talk about that.

It's not about attention. When you push a graphic on the news with extreme factual issues, it's a big deal.

I agree. The LC folks keep bringing it up. I can’t stand the “what about me” isms.

SWLA folk just rebuild quietly and move on usually. That's why it never gets a lot of attention here.

You miss the point but not going to hijack this thread over it. IDC that much about it TBH.

A valid gripe....I'm saying now isn't the time to talk about the why....I'd be glad to hash it out after all of the needed info from this thread is complete....which could be days/weeks.

If you removed the bickering from this thread, it would be about 200 pages instead of pushing 1000.

Don’t blame the people of SELA for what the media chooses to show

Haven't been able to get in touch with anyone in central lafourche today, was able to last night.

I imagine dead phone batteries and down/overloaded networks are playing a part.

For those needing repairs and need help from contractors. There are many reputable ones out there who will do you a good job.
However, the area will be flooded with those that are there to do nothing more than to steal your money and disappear forever.
Check out each one, check their credentials, demand written contracts and never give them full payment before they start.

This. Family in LC having to deal with a contractor from BR that took the deposit and first installment to start work, didn’t do any work, then pulled out and said they would let them know how much of the money they would give back. Offered 3/4 of money back paid out over installents.

The Hurricane Laura thread went 815 pages. It was about 780 pages the morning after the storm.

The Hurricane Ida thread is 942 pages the morning after the storm.

This scientific research proves why SELA gets more attention and money.
