Sorry to interrupt the pissin match, has anyone heard from the Lacombe-Big Branch area? Cannot reach my parents that rode it out with a generator. Mainly concerned about flooding. TIA

If they happen to have ATT, you won't hear ... they're decimated from what I've read.

correct, but if all transmission lines from every direction going into the city, one direction has to be repaired before they can get anything up.
Yes, that’s why I’m saying that hopefully not all are damaged like the tower in Avondale, and a more convenient fix could be possible.

Our hurricane was a year ago and much stronger than Katrina Hell, this isn't even a Rita/Katrina situation b/c Rita was immediately after (and, again, stronger than Katrina, iirc)
You have to realize that every storm does not hit the same. Storm strength may or may not matter as much as where or how it hits an area. The winds of Katrina were not what destroyed New Orleans. Storm surge did. The winds of Ida probably hit New Orleans harder than Katrina did, but the route the storm took didn’t push as much surge waters on them.

I’ve never heard of Harahan or Kenner referred to as the westbank.

Did the water get high enough to flood oak harbor or eden isles houses? I have friends back there still.
Bump on this question
This data would make me think it did not.

No shite. I'm responding to a picture where they listed the most powerful storms to his LA and put Katrina over weaker storms and completely left off the monster similar to Ida we had last year
*ETA: the graphic specifically says "by wind speed"

Grand Isle homeowners and second home owners may have expected the police to stay to prevent looters.

Think about this for a second.
Are these looters getting on boats or swimming in from the mainland?

Anyone have max wind numbers from around the area?
