I really dont understand the world some of these peopel lvie in. Totally different than the one you and I live in for sure.
Twitter army are a bunch of useless 20 something losers who’ve never been in high stress situation other than people saying something mean to them. They don’t know what it means to protect family and property. All they have in life is Twitter and blue hair

$100 says they haven’t pulled a single person over and your just a loser prick.
State police out in a show of force discourages looters and other bad issues. Like you want them to do.
At least one had someone pulled over.
Nothing says solidarity like a bunch of troopers sitting in Tahoes up and down I-10. I just passed the 6th trooper right before the Crowley exit.
Surely there is something productive they could be doing?

My guess is they’re out so they’re visible and it keeps people from driving like assholes and possibly causing accidents which, in turn, causes major backups.
Here in NC after a Hurricane they come out to control traffic.
1) Make sure all emergency responders can get through as a priority
2) Make sure all utility crews can get through
3) Make sure anyone trying to get to their home does not 1) prevent the above 2 or hinder their efforts and 2) to make sure they can safely return.
To many idiots try to rush back and get stranded in flood waters, drive thru downed power lines/trees, etc, causing resources that need to be utilized elsewhere to be diverted slowing recovery down.

Private insurers do not insure the municipality or energy company’s ability to provide services to your home. Outside of limited coverage that may be available under Civil Authority, usually 2 weeks, this is not covered.
Now if you have an on premises cause for the loss of power/water then that may trigger the broader ALE coverage.

I assume something like what they did for Katrin
There was mandatory evacuation for Katrina. And then even more left because of flooding. No one left for Ida. And much less flooding. This might be much worse logistically. It’s going to get bad at night

This is mind boggling to me.
I know the storms in Lake Charles were severe and devastating. But there are actual office buildings that still lack power a year later?
How does Entergy explain that? How does JBE explain that?

It's too late to leave. I should have gotten out of here at midnight last night. I'm still here, though. Hopefully everything works out. It will be a long day - Good Luck everyone who stayed. Especially the ones in my area - Terrebonne and Lafourche. ...
OG, did you remain in Lockport?

I know school was canceled for Calcasieu parish today but a lot of businesses must have given people today off. Lake Charles has very little activity this morning.

On the plus side they can leave now without a helicopter.

Monitoring highway traffic sounds like a good activity for highway patrol, but what do I know

My house is between Hwy 11 bridge and the twin spans on the canal side of Lakeview Dr. Water came over Lakeview Dr into Eden Isles canals but only in spots. Similar to Zeta maybe a little more.

Oh I wasn't trying to promote insurance fraud.
There are going to be 75 reasons why homes aren't habitable. I'm saying don't forget to say that one, or else the others may not matter.
