Rules for brothers. - DocSavage
If you have a big brother or if you are a big brother then these are some rules to live by. 1. Ultimately there can only be one big brother. Either kill him or accept your position in the pecking order. 2. Never let little brother win. 3. If little brother wins always claim cheating or ext...

re: Monde's knee down and the clock question - DocSavage
Touching the ball with a knee on the ground doesn't stop the play, but touching the ball with a knee on the ground, never losing touch with it from there, and ultimately gaining possession means you're down. You can't advance the ball.
This is correct. Knee on the ground + contact ...

re: Here is the NCAA rule and interpretation on the 3-second spike rule...Refs got it right - DocSavage
You bring up some good points on timing during the game though, as did YA Tittle. The game is timed lazily for 58 minutes, but the last minute in each half is expected to be precise without the tools needed to be precise.
Another thing to think about. The time is like a hourglass ...

re: O on 104.5, The narrative is "That one second should have not been.. - DocSavage
Nothing else matters except for the fact that the ball was still in the centers when the clock read 1 second. A play by rule must take at least 1 second unless of course it's an untimed down. So basically A&M was allowed the run a play that took no time off the clock. Amazing.
Th...

re: 2, then 1.5, then 1, then .5, then -0 Game Over - DocSavage
Every play as to take at least 1 second off the clock...
Not every play. you could clock the ball fast enough at 4:32 in the fourth and have the clock still read 4:32. Internally the clock reads 4:32 and 9 tenths. One tenth after they start the clock it would read 4:33. But a pla...

re: 2, then 1.5, then 1, then .5, then -0 Game Over - DocSavage
Review showed ball on ground with 1 second on the clock. The game isn’t over until it reads 0. There were 10ths left.
They gave them a full second back not tenths. They cant give you tenths that is why the game is over. the only way you can run a play after it rolls to zero when ...

2, then 1.5, then 1, then .5, then -0 Game Over - DocSavage
If the clock had rolled over to 1 second then was stopped with whatever fraction of one second remaining, still to be counted down internally, before it rolled to zero, then A&M could have legally executed 1 more play. This is not what happened. The ball was snapped as the clock rolled to one ...

re: Do You Believe in Absolute Morality? - DocSavage
Are you saying morality can't exist in chaos?
No. Moral choices just become more difficult to justify when your survival depends on the result. I'm not saying the moral standard goes away. We as individuals decide where our limit is based on our value of the moral standard being...

re: Do You Believe in Absolute Morality? - DocSavage
Those things come from the stability of human societies. Things like, marriage, farming, cooperation to produce food shelter clothing etc. Without these foundations you have chaos. In a chaotic / survival environment all of those moral rules that you think of as being part of us become cloudy/dis...
