He has been far from perfect. There has been good and bad. But can you imagine this happening on the watch of his feckless, lazy, incompetent predecessor? We'd really be in a world of hurt. Hell, we'd still be letting the Chinese pour in. So it could be worse.

I do but I also realize due to layers and layers of red tape shite is difficult to matriculate through the bureaucracy. Hence why the executive this week waived said red tape to begin mass production.

its not as if when we go back to "normal" everyone just goes back to work and starts even
bank accounts are depleted, loans go unpaid, its not just people that live paycheck to paycheck, many small businesses survive month to month
1) a lot of businesses will never reopen
2) of those that do, they won't bring every employee back
3) of those that do reopen and do bring SOME employees back MANY will close within 6 mos to a year
4) Housing markets a good indicator of the economy will most definitely suffer, even if evictions and foreclosures are suspended for a time that money has to be made up eventually.
Either the Apartment management goes bankrupt and those renters lose their homes, or those people are evicted.. that's what Nov-Dec will bring ya even if this ends in April
5) Lets says we go back to the NRA the federal govt hires all these unemployed to work on civil projects, whos gonna move into a work camp. We do need major infrastructure and I would rather see a lot of $$ go into that with the jobs created around that, with priority given to those that have lost jobs but you're talking about an EPIC career shift for millions, so the reality is even the best idea isnt feasible

We did something and infection rates went down. That doesn't mean that what we did worked. To be able to say that Social Distancing was the cause of the decrease, we would have to have a control group where they DIDN'T social distance and the rate in that group would have to rise. Maybe the virus is played out? Maybe herd immunity was already growing? We really don't know.
When this crisis is over, they really do need to do a study and figure this out. Otherwise, we will become a society that shuts down every damn time someone sniffles or coughs.

This is pretty hyperbolic. And there isn't any need for it because the realities are frightening enough.
500k people dying would be horrendous, and that's a fairly plausible risk if we end up with an overtaxed health care system while infections peak. I don't think it'll happen for a lot of reasons, but I think numbers in the hundreds of thousands aren't completely off the reservation.
You have to pretty much take the math to the fullest extent to get to a million deaths, much less several million.
