Unless your plan was to impose martial law in February you would have failed to stop the outbreak as well.

Nobody has ever said it could be fully stopped but we damn sure could have done a lot of things to mitigate it's spread.

Our government knew about this shite as early as late December and did frick all to prepare.

Social distancing hasn't gone on long enough for this to even be a possible number. The numbers would already be out of control seeing that the majority of the population hasn't been doing any distancing at all.

Just look at the parks, the beaches, people still working, the grocery stores have more people than any other place. People still had weddings, throwing parties at their houses. Church services still ongoing.

Aww. Did I hurt your feelings? What the hell am I ignoring? The fact that I think that medical experts can be off on their predictions? Do you think they're infallible?

South Korea is #1 by a long shot. Australia and Singapore have also done far better than we have. This stuff isn't hard to look up.

Well, South Korea and Singapore have some population attributes that somewhat helped their respective responses, and we will never have those attributes here.

By the way, have you calculated their per capita death rates and run a comparison to ours? Now, I know they're several days ahead of us, but I think you may find the numbers somewhat surprising.

Like what? Seriously you can't just say vague shite like this. A lot of People still aren't listening to the governments orders.

You would've found a way to blame this on trump regardless

your hubris has convinced you that your agenda isn't obvious, but it is. You're a shill and are letting your personal political beliefs marginalize whatever worth you may contribute.

What about his handling of anything during his eight year tenure convinces you of this? Do you really think he would have cut off travel with China? Hell, he would probably be offering to take refugees from Iran. Or is it just that because the media "would be on his side" that it would be better?

The smartest thing DJT has done is put so much power/decision making on the states. What's good for one isn't good, or necessary, for another.

His entire term. He wasn't infallible, but he put trust in his advisers, respected and listened to their input, and gave his cabinets the tools they needed to succeed. His administration was also almost always on the same page with their messaging. Same could be said for every prior administration.

I like how people now shite on Obama's H1N1 response when that's exactly what the people shitting on him want to happen IE basically no change to the status quo of life.

I'd rank that as 1b. 1a would be that he listened to scientists.

I think trump has done a decent job so far. Messaging has been a little mixed lately. I hope we strike the correct balance when getting back to normal life.

He's a consistent messenger who delegates to subordinates and doesn't send conflicting messages. He's probably a narcissist, but not nearly as vanity obsessed as Trump. I think Trump's #1 goal is to bring glory to Trump in all things.

I can't envision a scenario in which Trump would ever sacrifice his reelection for the country, or admit fault, or admit ignorance. I can only envision Obama doing so in the narrowest of circumstances, but it's still more likely.

Anyway, I support Trump because I think he carries the banner for some ideas I care about, and because he sometimes picks entertaining fights. I don't think he's a particularly good leader or person. I think Obama is a somewhat better person and leader, but I also think he supports a worldview committed to the things I'm against. Hence, in a mostly non-ideological crisis, I'd probably pick Obama.

I think you have to include partnering with private businesses to meet immediate needs up there. To go from no testing to more testing in 8 days than Korea has done in 8 weeks is phenomenal. And now we will see how those partnerships provide treatment medication (Thanks, Bayer), masks, etc.
