That isn't the choice. The economic health of the nation is not the stock market. The stock market is a crude indicator at best.

Being a Pro Life Republican has a new meaning now

I never supported death panels and I certainly don’t support them now

We’re not doing enough testing to know what’s “working”. Trump has been a disaster when it comes to the disease itself.

Basically the way I see it...

You could either save a lot of people’s lives and have the economy suck for a month or two

OR

You could slowly watch 7-10 million people die because of overall hospital resource shortage AND have the economy suck for many months

Watching this virus take over our country will not make anyone optimistic in the market

There’s a lot of reasons to be hopeful

Not really. A major local hospital just told staff to use protective equipment until they become too soiled to use anymore because they can't get enough new equipment and are fearful that supply chain will be more limited in the coming weeks. That practice would have gotten people fired, and gotten hospitals a heavy fine, as recently as last week.

It's interesting seeing people who have no clue what's going on from a regulatory perspective spout off about what is and isn't being done.

The amount of waivers and changes that came out of the administration the last week or so was nuts.

A random 80 year old in Idaho is on death’s door. Do you drain every penny to your name to save their life? Be honest.

Newsflash: it already has taken over the country and isn’t stopping anytime soon.

What is the end game for social distancing here? Let’s say everything goes back to normal in a month as you suggest. You think coronavirus magically disappears when that happens? How are we not going to end up in the exact same situation we’re currently in?
