This straw man is ridiculously overplayed and very irrelevant at this point.

If the spikes are mostly in unvaccinated populations, then being mad at anyone but the assholes making decisions for us worthless citizens is ignorant. You fricks keep attacking other regular Joes rather than the people making these horrible decisions. Stop being a mouthpiece for these scumbag politicians for once.

Masks and lockdowns are unnecessary today and into the future. If you agree with that, then the fact that we aren't at 100% vaccinated (we'll never be) is completely irrelevant.

Or you could stop attaching your decision making on a world health emergency to your feud with politicians. Vaccines work, vaccines can end a pandemic, high cases are killing people. Just because you hate how JBE is operating doesn’t mean you just get to ignore the solution right in front of you. People are dying and it’s not JBE’s fault, it’s not chinas fault, it’s the people that don’t wanna get a shot in their arm and feel like crap for an afternoon.

You people are so disingenuous it's sickening. Literally.

How about if you are so scared stay the frick home. Your health is not my responsibility and mine not yours.

Instead of forcing people to wear masks the scared and vulnerable should stay home and away from others. Why are you forcing your insecurities on others?

I got vaxed to limit my risk of severe symptoms, not to not wear a mask. As a vaxed person, I feel the same way about wearing a mask as I did before I was vaxed.

I'm not a pussy about getting shots. I am not afraid of the word RNA. Masks are a minor inconvenience. As such, it doesn't really bother me.

I think it’s bullshite that I should wear a mask so some idiot who refuses to get a vaccine can be more protected but I will still do it because it’s truly isn’t that big of a deal. People who freak out over having to wear a mask will never make sense to me. Most places probably won’t even enforce it.

It does make sense. There are still hundreds of millions of unvaccinated people and the vaccines are 65-94% effective meaning at least 10 million of them can get infected. A more contagious strain has developed. Not difficult to understand.

On top of that you have everyone just over this shite and going out and about like normal, not vaccinated, when before they made an effort to socially distance and not go out as often. I often find myself in line at the store with someone behind me coming right up to me. Agree or not with mask mandates, I don’t think anyone disagrees that keeping a few feet away from the others in line at the grocery store helps prevent transmission of any type of sickness, covid included.

If anything from this stays permanent, I’d hope it’s the social distancing in public places.

Factually incorrect. Even if you accept that the virus originated naturally, China knew about it and willingly allowed it to escape Wuhan last fall in order to avoid embarrassing the Party.

The entire ordeal is literally their fault.

That's great you feel that way but I feel differently.

I was told if I got the vaccine I wouldn't have to wear a mask. Now I'm being told opposite after the fact.

That's fricked up. So to act like people are stupid for getting the vaccine to wear a mask is disingenuous at best.

But at the very least you are aware that America does not exist in a vacuum and that, to this extent, any avenue we take must also pragmatically consider the rest of global society, correct?

No, my anger is at the people and politicians who won't let the people who have made their decision live (or die) with it.

Well, the problem is those decisions to not get vaccinated potentially impact other lives. You think doctors and nurses that have been caring for Covid patients are just making up stories for how awful it is? You think when hospitals get close to running out of ICU beds it doesn't trickle down to heart attack patients, car accident patients, stroke patients, etc?

quote:

Punishing those who have done their part flies in the face of common sense.

I mean, sorry you have to wear a mask in the grocery store, but at least your chances of having severe complications or dying from Covid are greatly reduced. One punishment in that seems a lot worse than the other.

quote:

I have no control over those who have decided to not get vaccinated and that is their right. But now to punish me is fricked up.

It is fricked up, which is why you should be mad at those that chose to not get vaccinated. They are the ones causing this.

You have a case of misdirected hostility, but good for you for doing your part to get us past this!

It’s seems that you believe them. Have you paid no attention to anything for the last year and a half. I will never believe another “just do this and things will be ok” thing again. frick all.

I didn't do that at all. Some politicians asked us to do that early on, though.

Doesn't really affect me much.

I wear it at work. I wear a N95 or a respirator to see COVID patients. it's all the same, my biggest concern are the ICU nurses and RTs quitting.
