West Bank with WBR and Iberville parish will not agree to where it should be.it amazes me that there are such little bitches in politics that people can’t just come together and say, let’s get this done
You new here? You live in a place that tolerated an Interstate condensing to one lane for decades. Baton Rouge is a shithole.

This is what BR needed because it's never getting a Loop.
A "Southern By-pass" was Proposed ....however it would have cut across the Bluff Swamp/ Spanish Lake preserve. So they Cancelled it.
My proposal would have gone a lil further South ; parallel Hwy 30 near Tanger Mall in Gonzales
It could have tied into Hwy 415 Extension in WBR with New Intracoastal Bridge....the New Mississippi River Bridge would have gone into BRUSLY ....
But the NIMBY's shut it down

How in the frick does Shreveport have a 3rd loop and BR can’t get one?
It helps to have had comparatively limited population growth/sprawl and relatively minor geographic/industrial obstacles to contend with as compared the BR area. The Mississippi is enough of a challenge on its own, as there are very few places the Army Corps will allow a bridge to be built. But then you’ve got all these wetlands issues, especially to the South.

Will New Orleans ever have a loop?

Not exactly true with this new Red River parkway. This new extension is being built between nice 12 oaks sub & really nice Esplanade Sub. They were fighting it hard but route was filed first & hoods were given plenty of notice.

I-220 is a loop.
It is not
A loop goes completely around a city like 610 or 8 in houston

Shreveport with loop 3 before BR has loop 1
Theres are reason LA ranks 50th in everything
Shreveport metro GDP $27 Billion
Baton Rouge metro GDP $69 Billion
I'm not saying Shreveport shouldn't have good infrastructure. But Baton Rouge being this neglected when it comes to highway investment shows me how fricked our state's priorities are.

A bridge over red river is much much cheaper than a bridge over MS river

I live in Blanchard, my in-laws live in Benton, a new bridge would be a God send.
They could call it The Cash Point Connection

I know they are extended Clyde Fant south of the Jimmie Davis but don't know where it ends up connecting too.
Never heard this, looking at google maps, I don't see anywhere really for it to go without hitting that sand plant and running parallel to E 70th then follow the river only for it to come head on to another subdivision.

Nothing but wide open lanes, with only a handful of people driving on them.

The traffic count on the Jimmy Davis Bridge is significant. That’s why they are building a new bridge.

Well Texas knows how to build roads. Why are you surprised?

This an apples to oranges comparison. The inner-city connector hasn't been finished because of state issues acquiring the property. This new roadway is privately built through mostly unpopulated acreage.
My uncle in Shreveport said the hold up was the usual suspects claiming their rundown houses are worth millions.

Shreveport has the best road system anywhere in the state and it’s not even close.

There’s significantly less corruption in Shreveport than BR.

Too bad no one lives there to drive on it.
