Sucks we’ll never have a full circle because of Barksdale.

I always wished we had another bridge across the red river that was north of 220 and not the one all the way up in Plain Dealing.

Industrial Loop, 3132, I-220

3132 and I-220 are part of the same partial loop, that’s not two loops. Bert Kouns is a surface street so who GAF.

If the industrial loop counts as a loop then BR has a loop with Airline Highway from I-12 to the old bridge to La 1 or 415.

I-69 will be a decent east side bypass for out of towners coming from the east or south when it’s built 50 years from now.

How in the frick does Shreveport have a 3rd loop and BR can’t get one?

Because when Kip Holden wanted a loop, the local citizens and politicians voiced disapproval, couldn't come to any agreements and therefore it was dropped.

this Loop #3 looks like a completion of one loop.

It is. It extends the existing 3132 to the Port of Shreveport.

That was probably back when government was looking at completing 3132 to the port, which had long been the plan. Then a housing developer and dumb or crooked politicians screwed it up.

Now a private toll road operator is looking at doing the job, along with a new bridge over the Red River.

AI says: The Red River Expressway is a privately funded, 8-mile tollway project in southeast Shreveport. It aims to reduce commute times between south Caddo and Bossier parishes by linking Highway 3132 (at Flournoy Lucas Road) to South Bossier.

I think we're too hung up on the word loop. What is more important that it gives the Shreveport/Bossier area a total of six crossings over the Red River. That's got to be the most in the state. Add a 30 minute drive north and south for two more crossings, for a total of eight within an hour.

This is the correct answer. Shreveport has 3/4 of one loop. If they ever completed the 3132 loop to 220, it would be amazing. But considering 3132 may be the worst highway in North America, I doubt that will happen.

Also, while everyone in here is praising Shreveport's infrastructure, don't forget that I-49 opened up to I-20 30 years ago. They haven't been able to extend it by 3 miles to connect it to I-49 north since then. To think that there will be another "loop" in our lifetime is funny.

This an apples to oranges comparison. The inner-city connector hasn't been finished because of state issues acquiring the property. This new roadway is privately built through mostly unpopulated acreage.

Don’t forget the new Jimmie Davis Bridge.

A few minutes from my office. I never thought I'd be so intrigued by bridge building but man it's a pretty bad arse process.

That map is so blurry I can't even make out where the new loop is going. I know they are extended Clyde Fant south of the Jimmie Davis but don't know where it ends up connecting too.

That's great. Now why won't these a-hole politicians that represent North LA not vote for funding a new bridge in BR?

I live in Blanchard, my in-laws live in Benton, a new bridge would be a God send.
